• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tank finish protection

I just added clear contact paper to the tops of our gas tanks. We're both using cortech aftermarket tank bags. Our dealer noticed them and said they have seen tank finishes marred by bouncing and shifting bags over time and suggested the above. This may be old news here but thought I would share. Seemed like a good idea to me. The stuff is low contact and won't hurt the finish.

That's a good idea. A number of us bought the tank protectors some of the tank protectors from various manufacturers to accomplish the same thing.

That sounds like a decent idea. The tank protectors I have seen are either black, or the sport bike models, so at least your idea allows the natural color to show through as well.

Hmm...tank bag protectors...Isn't the Spyder tank under the pilot seat?! If so, why would someone want to put a bag under their butt?!!! :yikes:
:roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: I'm soooo funny!!! :D

The bag under the butt provides more cushion for those who still have the stock seat! :roflblack:

It is funny that we call it a tank, when it is not. Heck, when I am ryding with my 2 wheeler friends I point at mine to let them know I need fuel as that is something they are used to. I have no idea what they would think if I started pointing at my butt instead! :yikes: :roflblack:

Someone I was riding with told me that pointing at the tank area could be a dual meaning signal, need fuel or need restroom. :D

It would be a really bad thing to confuse the two!!! :roflblack:

It must be a funny place in your head becuse it not so funny outside of it.:shemademe_smilie:

Luckily, the way things are today, almost every gas station has a bathroom so it shouldn't matter. I do remember a time when you were hard pressed to find a bathroom at any of the little country gas stations where we live though.
