There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Same problem here. I thought about cutting it too until I read this thread. Now I will try to stretch and force fit the bracket.:cheers:

Not an easy job!
I found it very difficult to fit as well. Had to use considerable force to push the bracket down enough over the rubber to line up the holes. It eventually worked, but only after much sweat and cussing. :banghead:

A much easier way
I found a much easier way to put the tank bag bracket on. It's a two person job !!!
First, install one bolt on one end. Hand tighten the bolt and leave some wiggle room. Then find a short length 2x4 as your push bar. While standing on the seat, using the corner of the 2x4, push down with your weight. The 2nd person line up the bolt (holding up the nut/front assembly bracket with your finger helps lining up the bolt) and thread it in. Tada ... done in 30 seconds.
Just becareful not to put so much force on the 2x4 so it slips and crushes the other person's finger. :firstplace:

Instructions for mounting the Tank Bag
Can anyone send me a pic of where the tank bag mounting bar goes? I just moved and lost the instructions. I know it is likely simple but for some reason my pea size brain is struggling! Thanks to all on this forum. Your knowledge and love for the Spyder keeps me informed and tracking!

I was able to install the bracket and leave the rubber piece in its place. Wasn't easy but doable.

Thanks Bob! Got the bracket on by forcing it over the rubber, but now the center panel is bowing up some in the center. Well I went and refit the center panel and got it to fit properly once all the tabs were set right.
So bag is on but me being the bone head that I am lost one of the two plastic pop-rivets which secure the center panel under the seat. Anyone know a good replacement? I am going to check at autozone. I think I had previously seen something there.

Nope... found them in a Cycle Gear store five-six months ago. A lot of sport-bikes use them.

Thanks guys. I found a pair at AutoZone that are the screw in type. So what I did was remove one that was holding the left side tank cover under the seat to the center bar and placed it on the center panel. Then put the screw in replacement to backfill the one I swapped.

Speed mounting
My entire installation took about 60 seconds.
After the strenuous action of turning the key to lift the seat, I inserted the tab under the body panel. Then, with the forward loops closed, I hooked a balled shock cord from one to the other around the steering stem.
Done. Works fine, and all vestiges go away much quicker.
Ride on.
