• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Taking a 2500 mile trip

I am thinking of taking a long trip on my new spider st limited, how well does the 990 work going at 70 to 80 mph for a long time. I have to gothrough Nev. and that's the speed out there. Has anybody travel a long way on their spider and how did it fare on thetrip. :dg2:

Mine has the 1330 but people say the 990 isn't that far off. Mine did great on a 2400 mile trip, mountains and all. I'm sure you'd enjoy it and the Spyder would be fine.

That sound’s good I was a little worry about the bike, I love my spider. I wanted the 1330 but did not have the money for it. I got a good deal on my spider brand new 2014 I paid18000. The rt’s were going for 32000. to 30000. Maybe after a while I will trade this one in for an rt.

I am currently 4,200 mikes into a trip with 10 Spyders. Six of them are 2014 RT, 3 are 2012 RT and there is one 2013 RT. We have not had any issues to speak of.

i live in Las Vegas and frequently travel 400 to 700 miles a day at 80 mph towing my trailer with no issues. You should be fine.

I did ~3100 miles round trip on my 2014 ST to Spyderfest and back, much of it cruising at 70 to 75. The bike did fine.

I recently did 1600+ to Rolling Thunder with 5 Harley Riders. The '12 RT was fantastic, no issues to comment on. The heat wasn't an issue:bowdown: and the comfort was second to none. Ryde on my friend ryde on....

Oh yea also did very well in the 1 mil bike parade too. No issues...

We love to tour on our Spyders. My 2013 ST Limited does fine. I am quite comfortable, have ample room for everything that I need to pack, and my Spyder normally performs flawlessly. I can keep up with anyone.

Thanks for the info how your spider ran on your trip. I fell better now, you have the same spider that I have even the same color. Do you mind me asking what gas mileage you got on your trip? I am taking a trip from calf to Utah and this will be the first time I took my spider on a long trip.:dg1:

I don't bother tracking gas mileage any more. I could easily get 140 miles on a tank and regularly hit 160 before the fuel light went on.

2014 stl

i have a 2014 stl.the reserve light comes on at around 170 miles and it takes about 5 gal to fill it up.

I have done numerous trips of that length or greater with both my 2010 RT and my 2012 RT without any problems. I must admit I like the gas mileage and less frequent stops on my
2014 RT and 2015 F3

Not a problem...

you will be fine. I have put 28,000 miles on that engine averaging 80mph on the open road. They are rock solid engines...have a great trip and fill us in with photos....
