• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tail light / Turn signal

I lost my left tail light but the brake light still lit. It took little over an hour and several trips to the internet and manual to figure out how to remove the fool thing. Then a drive (no ryding :spyder2:) to Napa to get the correct bulb. Napa part number 17916 replaces the P21/5w 12499 Phillips bulb that I'm going to assume was stock on the 2008 GS. Removed the bottom, six screws (left the seventh in place), raise seat pop the two plastic rivets to loosen the black side panel, found the screw to the lens in the back... :yikes:then came the issue, I couldn't find the side screw they were referencing. After reading a couple posts on Spydertalk I realized with rider backrest I wasn't going to be able to reach it... as luck has it I have small hands and was able to turn the housing and remove the bulb without taking off the backrest with just a little pressure on the lens. 2 1/2 hrs. to change a $2.50 tail light bulb, might be able to do it in 2 hrs. the next time. :banghead:

Nothing is easy about these machines, and changing bulbs is one of the hardest things to do. Good for you that you stuck with it & got it done. Less time & money than taking it to the dealer.

Tough one..!!

there was a thread on a modification made to the housing when installing the back rest to make it easy to change the bulb. Glad you stuck with it and congrats on your success..!! :2thumbs: I have big hands so will make that mod when mine go out....
