I lost my left tail light but the brake light still lit. It took little over an hour and several trips to the internet and manual to figure out how to remove the fool thing. Then a drive (no ryding :spyder2
to Napa to get the correct bulb. Napa part number 17916 replaces the P21/5w 12499 Phillips bulb that I'm going to assume was stock on the 2008 GS. Removed the bottom, six screws (left the seventh in place), raise seat pop the two plastic rivets to loosen the black side panel, found the screw to the lens in the back... :yikes:then came the issue, I couldn't find the side screw they were referencing. After reading a couple posts on Spydertalk I realized with rider backrest I wasn't going to be able to reach it... as luck has it I have small hands and was able to turn the housing and remove the bulb without taking off the backrest with just a little pressure on the lens. 2 1/2 hrs. to change a $2.50 tail light bulb, might be able to do it in 2 hrs. the next time. :banghead:
