HELP!! Right tail/brake light (both) out. Got Owner's Guide out and realize that you have to disassemble half the bike to get to the bulb. Real problem comes at step 5 which says: "Remove Torx screw beside the lens under the rear tip". I have the sport rack/backrest installed and unless I'm blind, the sport rack covers the Torx screw that needs to be removed. Someone please tell me how to get the bulb out without having to remove the sport rack. This looks like a real design flaw if you cover the screw that needs to be removed to change a bulb. If anyone has run into this problem and figured out how to do it, please post how to do it. Also, any reason both the right tail and brake light should burn out at 700 miles?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No standard lights still installed. I was able to get my small hand inside the lens to get the holder and bulb out, but someone with large hands, good luck. Next question is the replacement bulb is supposed to be a Stanley BF141-48293A, but the one that was in is a GE 1077F. Don't want to go 30 miles to Spyder dealer for a bulb. Can I use any standard 12v motorcycle tail/brake bulb compatible with GE 1077F? If a new one fails, then I'll know I have another problem. Just had 600 mile service last week and no fault codes or issues.
Removing the tail under cover was easy and before I even tried to get the lens off, I checked the connections and fuses. Both filaments burned out like they got some kind of surge, but left tail/brake light is fine. Will start with a 1157 replacement bulb just to check workings and then look for a sturdier bulb. I'm convinced that BRP designed the sport rack without thinking about the inside lens screw. If you have big hands, you may need one of youir kids or neighbor kid do it for you. No way changing a bulb should be this hard.
Just finished tail/brake light replacement. Ended up using a standard 1157. Everything works in the garage, but I will road test to make sure. If you have the sport rack/backrest installed, I would suggest that you try to get to your tail/brake bulb before you really need to because it will take much longer than you think. Now that I know how to do it without removing the sport rack, it will be easier next time, but if you have large hands, good luck. If anyone installed the sport rack themselves and has instructions, it would be nice to have them posted so that if you have to remove it to get to the inside lens screw, that would be a big help.

As I was going over everything last night, getting the Spyder ready to head out of town tommorow, I noticed my left tail light was out. And, I have the BRP Backrest System. Oh yeah! What a pain! :yikes: Lol!
I had to remove my saddle bags since the left side panel needs to be removed in order to get to the bulb. I have 12,650 miles on my Spyder. So; I guess it was time that a bulb would burn out. Indeed! Very difficult getting to that bulb! Like was already mentioned; to replace a lightbulb should not be this difficult. I guess BRP didn't give much thought to that part of the Spyder design.
It was late. So, I left everything in pieces. Today, I'll go out and get 2 1157 bulbs, and replace the right one, as well. We are going to be gone for about 4 days. I don't want to have to mess with this while on the road.

The way I look at this though, is that I am really glad to discover it now, and not on the road.
We are heading out tomorrow for Florence, AL. Then; onto Chattanooga on Saturday to check the sites, and spend the night. Sunday, we might be heading back over to Kentucky Lake. It looks to be around a 700 miler.
It will be our first 'real' trip.

Fantastic!! I'm looking forward to it! But; right now, I am really, really, looking forward to our trip. I took 1/2 day vacation today. And, I replaced both of the tail lights with new Sylvania Long Life 1157s.
And, like Lamont said; 'Hope the weather cooperates'! If not... no problem. we have rainsuits, etc,,,. I'll tell you all what I bought later on. It has been a really busy day! :shocked:

Just found out my brake likes are not working. This link does not work.
I have an 09 Phantom edition, and need the right side brake like. I know I just need to drop the 7 screws out, and then 2 on the light bracket, but I need the part number for a replacement. Any help will be appriciated
