• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just purchase a shift ligth for the spyder. Well, is time to connect it, there are a connector going to the coil with 3 cables on it. I need to find the one that signal the tach to make the connection. Any ideas? some help please. By the way I just install my aerocharger and I'M TAKING IT TO THE DYNO THIS TUESDAY. Sorry I can wait. I would love to have the shift ligth working by then.

Good luck with your electrical and power boosting mods :yes::ohyea:

I already check the shop manual but the print is so small that even using a magnifier is almost imposible to read. No wonder the manual was so cheap. I just need to know the color of the tach cable. Any help will be apreciated.

Google repair manual for the year and model of your spyder, go to the company's web site, look at the electrical section hold down the control key on your keyboard and use the scroll wheel on your mouse and increase the print size to what ever you require to see the diagram

Thank for the help , but I just found out that I can't read the diagram. I used to read my 1970 vw bug diagram, but guess what? things just changed a little. If there anybody with an electronic/eletrical/ automotive degree that can translate this , I will appreciate your help.

All sensors feed the ECM (Engine Control Module), Looking at the electrical print I would guess that the tach signal would be derived from the camshaft position sensor. The Instrument gets a digital word from the ECM and the computer in the instrument cluster sends the correct voltage to drive the tach. There is no way to tap into the signal and if you did the computer probably would not like it.

Doc

Hi Doc, The company that I bougth the shift ligth from told me that it was install by a friend on a spyder before . The problem is that he won't be avialable until tuesday, and I'm going to the dyno this tuesday. Let's see what he said, I'll let you know. Thanks

Doc, sorry it took so long, but i forgot the name of the thread, Yes it is possible to install the shift ligth . Out the 3 cables #1 from the engine out is piston #1 and #3 cable is piston # 2. I got it set at 8800 rpm, it works great
