• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

does anybody have any experience with haier or proscan brand tv's ? or know anything about them?
outstanding deals on these brands on black friday.

I have a Haier (26") in my toy hauler. It's OK biggest weakness is audio quality. Had a 19" Haier in the bedroom of the toy hauler but I discarded it for Visio. As for Proscan, it used to be RCA's premier line of TV's back in the 90's but that is no longer the case. Both are fine for less used TV's, but I wouldn't buy either for my primary TV.

No...but I currently have three Samsung flat screens. They are quality... no problems with any of them and two are about five years old. Pay the difference... be happy.

our main tv is a sony xbr. i want to get my daughter a new tv for her room. if you make life too good for them, they'll never leave.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

+I have a Phillips, Vizio and a Samsung and they are all about the same quaility once you get into 1080p. Just look for the one that will give you the most ports for your hookup's. I just got the Samsung and it's a great TV, but it did not come with a USB port so I can't stream my pictures off a memory stick and I was a idiot not to make sure it had one before I bought it. :banghead: I'm going to go to Radio Shack and see if they have a HDMI or RCA to USB splitter.

Also...... if you are running basic cable (Non HD coming into the TV) it wont matter what TV you buy, the picture quality will not shine through even if you bought the best TV they make.

Also #2........ you can't screw a regular cable into the TV either, it must be a HDMI cable or the HD cables from your cable box (Red, green, blue and white cables) for the best quality picture, or again it wont matter what TV you buy.

 So much of what you said just turned to :cus: as soon as I realized that i didn't have a clue as to what you were saying... :opps:
I think that I've got a Samsung... I can watch sports and the Missus can watch her shows on it without having to fiddle with any rabbit ears...

I've got the router blocking facebook, and YouTube on the computer they use, it blocks the whole internet at 10:00, and cable goes off at 10:30....

Any idea how I can make it "suck harder" to give them that itch to find their own place? :roflblack:

Arntufun, sounds like you bought a monitor only.......no tuner.

If it's a tv for a kid or bedroom go for it. If you see on a budget go for.. lcd tv's have a low failure rate. If you want a nicer tv for the family room you get what you pay for.

go to the basement dave, and close off the dampers in their heat ducts abouthalfway, but do it gradually so it isn't a drastic change , just so their rooms are a little 'cool' , when they complain, just say ''i'll look into it ''. then start buying the generic version of their favorite foods, chalk it up to ''budget cuts ''. if those don't work, start charging rent. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: blame it on the high monthly cost of homeownership, payments, taxes, insurance, water , cable, phone, maintenance, blah, blah, blah. that's off the top of my head, i'll give it more thought. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

hey atadude

Hey Coz,
How do you keep them out once you've been able to GET them out? :dontknow:
The Missus refuses to rent out the room; I suggested that during the first discussion... :gaah:
