Sypder Wheels

Im looking for something different for my spyder, but cant seem to find any websites that offer aftermarket wheels for the spyders. Maybe im just missing something in my search, so if anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it. If I can find wheels the same size as not to lose my fenders id like to do that, or if a place offers different fenders to accommodate the next size up that will work as well. Unfortunately inspections require me to have fenders so it makes it kinda tough.
Thanks in advanced for anyones help

Hi,
Unfortunately, aftermarket wheels for the spyder are pretty much non existent if you want to keep the stock fenders. I know because I've been looking around and calling different places for months. From what I've found, companies offer the 18" wheels up front but the stock fenders will have to go. They make aftermarket fenders to accommodate the bigger wheels but that just adds to the overall cost. To upgrade to those wheels you're looking at $5000+.
Unfortunately as well, the older model spyders will not accommodate the new 15" wheels found on the 2013 models. Too bad. The new fenders will fit but not the wheels. Hope that helps. Sorry for the bad news. But let me know if you find something that will work. I'm interested to know

Have to agree..!!

:agree: Now if you can find a wheel shop and have them custom made, that would be something. All those custom bike build off's make those awesome wheels.. Good luck..!!

contact Lou............. His Spyder is amazing !!!!!

What is the issue with fitting 2013 wheels on the prior years?

I don't know; I'm trying to get an explanation for that statement...
My guess: something with the calipers on the older bikes might interfere...

Oh! Here's one from West Coast Customs...West Coast Custom Spyder.jpg

My dealer told me the new wheels, tires and fenders would work on my 2012 RTS, but that was a salesman not a tech.

We really only need somebody with a 2013 to take a wheel off, and try to bolt it onto a prior model...
Is anybody willing to give it the, "Old College Try" for us?

Based on what a number of experienced techs have told me, people who I know have a lot of knowledge about the Spyder, the new wheels will not clear the old calipers. With the new Brembro brakes on the 2013 models, the new wheels have a slightly different offset that will not clear the old brakes. At least that's what I was told.

when i was on the hunt for wheels i found that the "I" car or smart car has a three lug rim but these 15" so you could get these then put on a low profile tire like what the 2013's are running. you might not have a problem.

wow thanks for the many responses everyone. I really didnt want to go above 16", I think 18" just looks weird to me on them. I have an excellent body guy who does my show mustang and if I asked really nicely he could take my stock fenders and alter them or even make completely new ones after bitching at me for a while lol. That sucks for how popular modding these machines are no one makes wheel series for them :/ doesnt make sense to me

hey guys I got the new 2013 wheels and im going to see if they fit on my 2011 rt limited, I was told they do fit. I will do a test fit because they go off to the powder coaters tomorrow. I will put another note on hear later today.

Thanks, waiting for your report. I'm also interested in putting 2013 rims and tires on my spyder.

ok I just checked the new 2013 wheels to see if they fit on my 2011 rt limited and....:yes:yes they do fit. There is about 1 1\2 inches between the rim and the caliper. I ordered the new black graphite (I think that's what brp calls it) but I am having these powder coated orange rear wheel and sprocket getting done as well. I will post pics next week when i get these back and installed.
