There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Sypder+Helmet 1 Turkey 0

Holy gobbler Batman:roflblack: That is scary. We have many of those critters around here, usually in flocks. I've had several close calls in the work cage. Glad you and Lynn are ok. Makes me want to change from my 3/4 helmet to full.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes....and it's ok to laugh we have been laughing about it since it happened. They say laughters the best medicine and in this case I agree!

Thanks again,

Tina ( Turkey Slayer :doorag:)

:2thumbs: Animal/vehicle collisons are always ugly... when it's a bike that takes the shunt it's potentially REALLY ugly! I'm glad to hear that both you and your spirits are in pretty good shape!
(Most of my Wild Turkey collisions have involved shot glasses and hangovers...)

That is one expensive bird. Glad to hear in a short time you will be back on your :spyder2: take care.

Wow, a close call indeed. Very glad the stupid thing did not knock you off the machine. You did good there. :2thumbs: Sorry to hear of the injury but it doesn't sound too bad. I think being on 3 helped provide a more positive outcome. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I too truly believe that this drives home the theme ATGATT. Never mount up without it.

Glad to hear you are all right. It goes to show you never know what may happen on a ride. ATGATT is a good reminder for all of us.

So you're going to be okay and in the seat again soon.

Just last Saturday I had two close calls. One was with a pleasant that bounced off the windshield. It didnt get me and surprisingly didnt break the windshield - but what a wallop The other was with a "turkey" of sorts. A stupid, not paying attention driver decided to pass me on the left as I was just about to turn left. A checked the mirror one last time before my turn and if I hadn't stopped they would have hit me at 50+ MPH. The occupants were just talking away, oblivious evidently to brake lights and turn signals.

I wear the gear all the time, practice aggressive defensive driving and constantly anticipate the possibilities, but haven't gotten a meal yet out of my mishaps. Again, wonderful to hear all will be good with you soon.

That's a story for the grandchildren.

Wow, that's a story for the grandchildren!
Had a buddy driving his van when a turkey came right through the front windshield and end up in the back of the van. He was alright but never saw it coming. I'm thankful you are OK.

funny one!

i thought that just happened in the movie wild hogs.and like you say he didnt wear a helemt,so if that was real he would have been killed.you was luckey .glad it worked out and your still riding.:yikes::chat::D

Glad you survived to tell the tale and sorta laugh about it. I've hit two ducks in flight in two different incidents (might be why I ride DUCati's ??) and almost ran over one pheasant without going down but it sure gets your heart to pumping. One duck hit me in the shoulder in the late fall - I had full gear with several layers on and still had a big bruise for quite a while on my shoulder and neck. I've lost count of the number of birds I've hit - I sometimes wonder if I become invisible when I get on a bike:helpsmilie:.

No reconstruction required, it's a stable fracture which should heal without issue in a few months. I can even start riding again in a week or two.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes....and it's ok to laugh we have been laughing about it since it happened. They say laughters the best medicine and in this case I agree!
