• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

syderfest ??????????????????

How bigga boy are ya?? :)

Just kidding ya'll...doug1950 did ask a legit question, but fairness to jaherbst there are several postings about spyderfest out here along with the spyderfest site itself. I just emailed the sypderfest folks the other day and a wonderful lady (Linda) responded with a nice answer just as SypderLady did. I would recommend the spyderfest site or even spyderlovers have a section of last years fest so people like doug1950 (and myself a newbie) would have a better idea of what to expect.

Sometimes (ok, often) I ask questions people make fun of or call stupid...well, stupid is - is stupid does. I'll just ignore the people who are stupid-heads smart-a$$e$...LOL. Honestly, some of the smart-a$$ answers crack me up...the hard core answers suck!

H3ll, I'll buy you both a beer to keep the threads more user friendly. That's why I joined spyderlovers. I know there are going to be some who just drive you crazy, but I can't let them run me from the site because there are hundreds of other spyderlover users here. I can ignore the negators just like I can my ex-wife and move on to someone who will post something useful.

Ok...now I'm looking for the free gas that weekend especially since it jumped up (what) $.30+ the past two days!?!?!?

Smart A?? Answers Are Not Good Answers

I am new here also and I hated to see such smart ass answers to the original posters simple but honest questions. Even after visiting the Spyderfest website questions still remain. Many following 'Spyderslovers' forum have hopes of meeting new friends, sharing your knowledge and experiences etc. The first responses certainly didn't indicate a friendly atmosphere and made me think twice about wanting to attend Spyderfest. I will avoid meeting either of those 2 individuals for sure. Looks to me like it would be best to grow the membership, not destroy it by offending someone with stupid answers. My 2 cents.

Okay, I'm in.

One of the things I tell my students is that there is no such thing as a dumb or stupid question. Many times, others are thinking exactly the same thing, they are just afraid to ask because the question seems dumb or stupid.

I also tell them, if I have the answer, I will do my best to answer their question.

I understand and get your comments, but the people that commented negatively are not what Spyderfest is about. As a member of MoGang we try our best to make Spyderfest The EVENT to attend and to make everyone feel welcome, friendly and have fun. Please do not let a few people negatively influence your attendance at Spyderfest.

I realize the website does not contain all the answers everyone would like to see. We are still finalizing lots of the events and items for Spyderfest. We are putting out as much information as we can, as fast as we can. Spyderfest is a great event and we want everyone to enjoy it and want them to come back the next year.

I too am sorry the answers were not more friendly but I think the :banghead: at the end of the OP might have set the tone for the replies, that's just a guess.

As far as what you get for your $40.00 I think you'll find that you got more than you paid for. I've seen the accounting and this is not a money maker, maybe someday it will be but for sure the out of pocket cash it takes to put on this event is pretty staggering. I honestly had no idea. There will be a hoodie included while supplies last and there are some meals and drinks provided. The Fairgrounds in not cheap to rent and the vendor fees do not cover the cost so that's part of where your money goes. Show up and you'll be sure to have a good time. For sure you'll never see this many Spyders and folks excited about the Spyder anywhere else. :doorag:

I agree. The ?????????????????????? immediately made me think the writer was pissed (or strenuously objecting) about something. Words and punctuation convey meaning.

:agree: I've answered the question about what you get for your registration fee a couple times.
They asked in a polite tone and got a polite answer.

Exactly what I thought. For me, the question was what am I going to get out of this not what can I contribute or how much fun I can have. All my answers were in jest and not serious. I do not see how anyone else could have seen this any other way. All my exaggerations could have never have been taken seriously. If you think so please reread.
Not sure how old doug1950 is but surely he has been to functions before where registrations fees were charged.
All the folks involved in these funtions work extremely hard and they all volunteer their time for our enjoyment. Asking what do I get out of it for my registration fee with all the???????????????? after the question first off sounds a little self centered and demanding. Before asking a question in this manner please look at the registration. It is very self explanatory. You are not buying anything, we are all pooling our money for a group gathering of good times and friendship.
I have chaired a dozen or so yearly conventions while serving on the board of the American Bonanza Society and President of the Pacific Bonanza Society. Membership exceeded 10,200. I have a lot of experience with rally, conventions etc. I know the hard work and how they are normally either losing money or just breaking even.

Be a part of these by volunteering. Lamont and the Mo Gang are busting buns so we can all have a great time. If you really want to enjoy it volunteer and put something in it not just ask what you can get out of it.

Calling people names only makes you look bad. Lite'n up and have a little fun even if it is at your own expense. We have all been there.

There, now we are getting back on track. Been there and done that also. Lemonade any one?

This post was awfully close to what most posts on the Slingshot Forum looks like. Although to be honest, the Slingshot posts were interesting, and I especially enjoyed reading this one. Gotta admit, I do enjoy a little bile every now and then.
