• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Swaybar installed

Finally got around to installing the Evoluzione swaybar. And it can be done without removing the front trunk. Took around 40 minutes start to finish, with no blood loss and minimal swearing involved.;);)
Went out for a ryde, playing slalom on the street in front of the house and it really made a difference in the stiffness of the ryde. Still has some body roll, but new shocks in the future should help with that. I didnt get the nanny to kick in as fast as with the stock swaybar so that is going to be a big help in the mountains.
Come on September, I am ready now.:2thumbs::2thumbs:

:clap:That's awesome! If you know anyone else with an RT that wants one, I have a brand new one I bought by accident for sale.

:congrats: on your new mod :2thumbs:

I have new mods and extras too! Excitement all the time!

I knew you would come, See you in TN :D

From who did you order the swaybar?

Sway bar

I did the same about two weeks ago. The directions that come with the sway bay will scare you a bit. I did not have to remove the trunk. There is enough flex to remove the bar. It is pretty easy. I agree it make a great difference. I am running the front shocks at the highest setting also. I like how it handles but would like to replace the front shocks at some time.

I to did the install the same way. The Evo bar is the same diameter so it slides right back in once the OEM one is removed. I found a great improvement 1 up but 2 up things are not as noticable. I just spent the bank and installed Elka shocks. The verdict is not in yet but priliminary results are, the dampening seems to do more then the springs (300 lb ) I am not happy with the front end sitting 1 full inch higher giving the RT a higher center of gravity. My dampers are almost maxed out as well. Elka tells me that I can dial down the spring compression but I think that will soften the ride bringing me back to OEM. Would I spend that much money again??? I will let you know soon !!:sour:

I put Elka Elite race shocks on my Honda 700XX quad. What a difference they made. Thats one of my future changes, but not until I finish the cheaper mods first.

Got a nice 100 mile ryde in today and the swaybar is doing its job. Went to the twisties....ok, it was the off-ramp on the highway...its the closest thing I have around here, and didnt get the nanny to come on. 20 lbs of air in the fronts, shocks on high and new swaybar and its much better.:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

205 miles more today....and saw another spyder on the road. Swaybar still living up to my expectations. Lowered the front air to 18 lbs and the rear to 26 to smooth out the ride a little. Still a HAPPY RTS OWNER

Smoothing out the ride? I put the SwayBar on and the Elkas plus run 22 psi iin my front tires to try to get away from front end sway, never gave thought to smoothiong out the ride as that is a stock RT and I want to get as far away from that as I can. My Elkas are set to max to get as much stiffness as I can and it still seems to be soft up front.

Compared to my RS with the swaybar, the RT is a stiffer ride when on rough roads. I have the rear shock at max and the fronts on 5. I just have to remember that its not an RS and the ride will be different

I am not 100 % happy with My RT ride but am getting use to the fact that it it not a RS model. It is a touring bike and I love the comfort, protection and storage so I am learning to adjust. With the SwayBar & Elkas I just feel firmer and that sway is almost gone and I do go through curves much better. Elkas 300 lb springs though, in my mind are not the pefect setup. I still think a set of 325 lb springs would work better "IF" they were 9.5 or even 9 inch instead of 10 inch so that when compressed it would not lift the front end so. I can compress my 300's more then 1 inch but then my RT would be even higher, so that's why I would try a shorter spring. No luck there as Elka has told me they don't have shorter springs.

Just thought, Has anyone tried the OEM springs as they can be compressed more then 9 inchs??? My OEM's were set max (9 inches)and I could have done more if it were available. The Elkas have lots of thread and could be cranked down 1/4 or even 1/2 inch more and that would be enough with dampening adjustment. It would save cost as well. Well, not for me but maybe the next guy.
