Swaybar accolades

Installed BajaRons' swaybar yesterday. Took about an hour. In between rain showers took my RT for a spin down a favorite twisty road. What a difference! Am now able to set my shock preload at #3. Much smoother ride at that setting. Great job Ron. Cheers and ride safe everyone. PS: 2 inches of snow this morning and still snowing here in northern Utah, BIG SIGH!!

Amazing; isn't it? :thumbup: I always figured myself as a "low" performance rider, but even I was impressed about midway through the first turn. :2thumbs:

I was even more impressed coming out of the first turn after installing the BajaRon sway bar... over steer was gone and tracking was rock steady.

With the stock sway bar the roll would set up over steer as you exited the corner which was not a happy feeling for me or my wife.

I installed mine this pass Sunday and took two rides since then short but still AMAZED on the Difference in how the Bike just Gripes the road this Man (RON) is just Brilliant to know how to remedy this sway problem and to feel such a great degree of difference BRP should hire him as a engineer to fix all the other problem some have but the Bike is like a new Machine all I can say Is AMAZEING Difference and hope everyone who owns a Spyder buy it as it is worth the $$ it costs and I ,am no merchanic and took 2 1/2 hours going slow to install it Ride Safe and Be carefull Rich

I just got back from a real "Thrash" over some real miserable roads... potholed worse than a teen's acne :shocked:, blind curves, blind hills with curves, and then some more curves with sand thrown in just to get your colon knotted up nicely... :yikes:

I FLEW over this road about 10 mph faster than I ever had before. My personal "Danger; Wil Robinson" alarm was screaming at me the whole way.
The bike remained stable, reacted in fluid and predictable ways, and left me grinning like a ninny when I popped out the other side of it... :2thumbs:

New to the world of Spyders and loving it! I'm thinking of making this sway bar mod and am wondering if it will void any warranties? Thank you for the help!

Not likely considering folks are putting it on off the showroom floor Spyders. Had it put on both our Spyders at SF and it made a world of difference.

I was wondering how you swaybar enthusiasts would respond to an RT that tries to kill me each time I ride it. I put Elkos in front and that helped a lot. Anytime a gust of wind hits me, whether natural or semi, it is all I can do to keep the thing on the road. It happened again just today. I have to keep a constant supply of clean underwear. Unfortunately, my area gets lots of surprise winds and and gusty winds. After a year of putting up with this thing, I have decided to sell it sometime this summer. I have tried every tire pressure known to mankind, fr and rear. I'm not sure I want to put even more money into this thing, but the bars don't seem all that expensive.

Sounds to me like you are seriously in need of an alignment. To little toe-im makes the Spyder dart all over the road, behave badly in winds, and follow every variation in the road surface. All the swaybars and performance shocks in the world won't cure it completely. You may also have steering sensor calibration issues and/or loose/worn suspension components. One other thing, where is your shock preload set? The Spyder likes more than the manual says...especially with a heavy rider/passenger load. An experienced tech with the right tools should be able to make your ride behave much better. What you are describing is not normal, but many Spyders have done the same...including my 2010. That one was cured, and I think yours could be too.

Nothing is worn or broken. It only has a few thousand miles.

The Elkos have no preload setting. I have them set the way they were sent to me. I have had the machine to the shop 3 times for steering alignment. No help. I have little faith in the local BRP tech. There is only one and the nearest other is several hundred miles away. Anything over a hunnert' miles and I'm fried. I was hoping a bar might help. Guess not. I'm gonna try to find another shop to have a go at it.
