• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sway bar install 2013 RT

My video is for the 2010-2012 models. The 2013 is different and thus my video does not fully apply.
The 2013 has to be jacked up at least 18" to get the bar out which is in a frame channel on 2013 models.
I did see a video on the 2013 a while back but now cannot find it.

Bob

Actually it is 24" according to instructions. It is different from previous years as you have stated.

I had mine done at the dealer. You have to get the front end up pretty high, They used straps and a fork lift to lift it to get the old bar out and the new bar in. They said it was pretty easy except to get the bike up so high. They charged me 80 bucks to install it. I thought that was a very fair Price. Like the other post said I haven't seen the video for a 2013 installation either.

My question in doing this is. Does it void the warrenty? I read on another site that it does effect something to do with the electronic anti roll over function. If neither is effected I will put one on soon.

You need about 24" of clearance to the floor to get the sway bar out and back in. You start with about 6" from the frame to the floor so it's about 18" of actual lift.

If you do not lift the rear wheel you need a bit less lift because the bar comes out vertical to the frame. With just the front lifted the frame is at an angle to the floor and the bar will also come out at an angle reducing the amount of lift needed.

It was easy with just a motorcyle jack.

I always try to make it sound more difficult than it is. That way people are usually pleasantly surprised rather than the other way around. Most say it was easier than they thought it would be and that's the way I like it. :ohyea:
