There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Sway bar Baja Ron

I purchased a Baja Ron swaybar for my 2012 RT and have seen a few threads about the height that is needed to replace...somewhere around 18 - 22 inches. Funny, the directions in the package say it only needs to be raised to gain access and that the weight does not have to be off the tires. Nothing about the 18 -22 inches. Any comments?

The height issue relates to 2013 models only and yours is a 2012? The instructions would be right and its a simple job.

I drove my 2012 RT up on some car ramps and had plenty of room for the install.

I did not raise the rear of the RT....

Hope this helps!

Pre-2013's and 2013's are completely different sway bars and completely different install. The 2013's need to be lifted about 18" (maybe more depending on how it's done). Pre-2013's just need enough room for you to work underneath.

It is an easy do it yourself project on the older models and even though it is a little tougher on the 2013 it is totally worth the effort it takes. You will be amazed at the difference it makes.

There you go...!!

Not to worry..your is the easy one..once it is done you will be pleased with so much change with so little effort..!!

I wish we could get away with that here in the land of basements. They frown on garage "pits" around here. Being slightly older than dirt, I grew up working out of a pit in a garage bay. We didn't know anything about confined space hazards back then. I wish I could put one in the new barn. Can't get away with it here without expensive improvements...even if it is intended as a storm shelter.

Sway bar and links

Finished my installation Thursday night. Just a short ryde after, as I had cataract surgery the day before and was told no driving for 3 days. Everything went well. Most difficult part was trying to get the upper link bolts into the frame hole with only one eye. Lifted the bike with a floor jack that has a 16" height range. Put two jack stands under the lower A frame near wheels and went to work. Ron did a great job with the product and directions. I did replace the original lower link bolts with the longer ones in the kit but wondered why as the original bolts seemed to be long enough to do the job. Thanks Ron, looking forward to a nice week-end ride.

Sway bar install

Well the install is done and only took a couple hours but then Idid take my time and enjoyed. Directions are awesome! Although I did remove the wrong 2 bolts that attach the lower frunk but no worries, I figured it out and finally got it right. I did see a small difference around town but not a lot, except for one curve that nanny always complains about. No complaints this time. I'll reserve judgement until tomorrow when I take a longer ride, but right now I have to be honest...doesn't live up to the hype.

My mechanic says the RonBar is a waste of money, and I would be better off with upgrading the shocks. I told him that may be true, but $200.00 for a RonBar, or $700.00+ for better shocks; the RonBar won. From what I have been told by those I know that have the RonBar I will like it.

Find another mechanic! I rode with the RonBar and the OEM shocks set to 4 for a while. The first turn out of my driveway after installing the bar told me I had something! Elka Stage 1+ is just icing on the cake although I could have lived without them.

Although mine weren't broken, yet, I installed the "RonLink" as a preventative measure. Would have done so at the same time I installed the bar if they had been available. You might consider it since your OEM links are going to be off anyway.
