• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Swapping stock rear turn signals with LEDS

Can I swap the stock rear turn signals on an 09 SE5 with smaler LED turn signals. I've red this is a bad idea and can confuse the CANBUS computer. I wish to mount hard panniers like the GIVI 35 on my spyder but was told the stock rear turn signals get in the way. I do not want to mount them onto the rear mudguard. I wish to use my stock turn signals. Are the Givi 35 cases just rebranded by CANAM if you order Can Am side cases?

When I got my corbin bags I sold my givi bags and had to study what he needed for the install. He sent me a pdf of what comes in the kit. All the brackets, bolts screws, and turn signal relocation parts. All of that I had to remove from my spyder ST Limited so he could do the install on his ST S. His was the same color and body as mine so it worked out well.

I've done that for the same reason and it's no problem at all as long as you add the resistors to replicate the resistance of the standard bulbs.

Initially I got some cheapies that I fitted on the rear mudguard struts where the orange reflectors are on the side.

However when I replaced the rear mudguard with one off a Kawasaki I mounted some new Oxford ones (these even came with the resistors).

The resistors are ceramic and generate heat while the indicators are on but work perfectly. I just used some Sugru to stick the resistors so they wouldn't move around (in the cavity behind the panels at the rear of the spyder).

There is also a company called AdMore Lighting that does a brake, rear and indicator replacement for the reflector on Givi V35 bags and they do a Spyder wiring kit for them http://www.admorelighting.com/side-mounts/Givi-V35-side-case-bi-color-LED-light-kit-RY

PS the re-locator kit that comes with the Givi mounts in my mind looks a bit naff and also adds a lot of weight to the rear mudguard, the struts of which are prone to cracking anyway.

The AdMore Lighting LED kit for the Givi bags is what I went with. Fairly easy to install. This pix shows how I initially installed mine.
I have since added two additional LED strips* in each panel on the bags and changed out the incandescent bulbs to LEDs.
(*additional strips from AdMore - little bit of cutting, little bit of soldering)
It's bright out back now ! Pix in bright sunlight don't show how bright they actually are.
