• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

surging head light

I have had people ask me why one head light is brighter than the other while I was following them. I thought it was just the angle that they were looking at it. but today I was behind a van and I noticed that the more I got on the throttle the brighter the head light got. Has anyone else had this problem? I called my dealer and he is going to look at it. I have no doubt that he will be able to fix it. But in the mean time I was just curious.

This is typical for a Spyder. The Spyder has projector headlights, so they cast a relatively narrow beam. If they aren't aimed at the same height, one can appear brighter. Often one will look brighter in the rearview mirror just because it is more in the line of vision of the viewer than the other. Having them appear brighter as you get on the throttle or add a passenger is the same effect...they shine higher. They shine on the dark road just fine, though. It is only looking at them directly, usually in daylight, that they look odd.

Pull up to a garage door, garage wall, or a retaining wall next to a parking lot. If the lights shine at the same height (cover one at a time), I wouldn't do a thing unless people are flashing their brights at you. If they are not the same, a simple adjustment will aim them for you. Don't go too high, due to the throttle/loading effect.

Also note that the pattern is a bit lower on the left than the right --- they show examples of this in the owners manual.

Thanks for mentioning that, Dan. I forgot that completely. This is intentional for some low beam systems, to avoid blinding oncoming drivers and to compensate for road banking. I recommend alway checking alignment on high beam, to avoid some of this effect.

I realize what you guys are saying and I dont think that is what is going on. When I get on the throttle It is like your turning up the power in the right hand headlight. mind you that this is when you sitting still.
