• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Summer Boot preference

I'm looking for a new summer boot. I want it comfortable, breathable and more of a "sneaker" look than a traditional boot. I'm thinking a combination of leather and mesh material. Any recommendations? I'm searching the usual sites, cyclegear, leatherup and revzilla for available styles and reviews but nothing beats the trusted source of Spyderlovers.

Try Walmart, I found something like what you are looking for and the pair I got also covers the ankly which is important. Also priced very resonable.......

Little checking..

Lounge chair searching....go to Zappos and you will find them all. It take a bit of time cause they have bucket loads...

Give this a look-see

Go to www.motorcyclegear.com click on boots they are having a clearance on many brands.

I have had very good luck with Zappos. Free shipping both ways. I ordered 5 pair of boots. Returned 4 pair. They picked up the tab. Tom :spyder:

thanks for the rec's. The suggestions are right in line with what I was wanting. I hadn't thought of Zappos so I'll spend my Saturday morning coffee time perusing their site.

I have found that all leather, without insulating lining, is about as breathable and comfortable as there is. If your feet aren't wide, (mine are EEE), there is no end of what's available. But if you have relatively wide feet and want a truly comfortable fit, then spend the dollars and buy custom made boots. I bought a pair from West Coast Shoe Company, engineer/motorcycle pull-ons. With custom sizing charge, shipping, and rush manufacture charge they were $800. 100% American made. 90%+ of off the shelf boots are imports. I'll never have to buy another pair!

There are lots of good boots like you are looking for out there. Your on the right track for suppliers.

I am still wearing the 20 year old engineer boots I bought off of Motorcycle Superstore. They have been re-soled and heeled one time. They are finally, nicely broke in. I also have a pair of SIDI waterproof, but they are not quite broken in at ten years.:yes:

http://shoebuy.com has everything under the sun. Every piece of footwear I own comes from them. Free shpg and one free exchange per order. For the cooler materials you're looking for, I'd search for hiking boots. I live in hiking boots (I hike a minimum of 3 miles every day of the year), and rarely pay more than $90, but I did a Men's search just now and see that you guys tend to pay more. Nonetheless, I see some for $100 and less. Plus, there's a site-wide 25% discount going on right now. And once you're a customer, you'll get discount codes emailed to you all the time, some of them really huge.

Another site to shop/check... http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/cruiser/cruiser+boots

I have ordered helmets, jackets, gloves and rain gear from them. I had a helmet arrive that was damaged, contacted customer support and they were responsive, treated me like they valued me as a customer, and replaced the helmet with a new one and covered all the shipping costs.

TCX has a mesh called TCX air. You can buy them online from Revzilla. I'd suggest looking on Revzilla for their reviews of whatever brand you're thinking about buying.

I have had very good luck with Harley branded boots. Also, my local dealer often has some really good prices for this quality of boot.

I usually wear my Corcoran jump boots. Mine are made with glove leather uppers and speed laces. I have had them resoled twice over the years. They are 30 years old, still going strong and are comfortable for walking when off the bike. If they ever wear out, I will buy another pair. The price varies from around $110 to $160 a pair. And keep in mind, for days you are not riding you have a pair of boots to jump from an airplane.:roflblack:

I have had good luck with these Shift Fuel Hi Top sneakers/motorcycle boots
