• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Suitablity Question

Congrats on the RSS most here are rt riders and love them as you can see, I'm quite happy with my RSS and with a few mods over time it is a great riding and touring machine much less upfront and over time you can make it your own.

as you may have noticed this site is heavy in the RT roadster. We have an RS and the wife and I ryde a lot. I made my own mods for carrying stuff and minor adjustments for comfort. Progression is RSS RS ST RT with the RS being the most economical. Also had the most hp and best gas mileage. Now if you can muster up to the ST it is a step up towards touring. then the RT is the big one. Now at any stage you can make mods for comfort and storage as the budget permits. In my opinion you can tour on any of them...:ohyea:

I like the rack that Chupaca put on the back seat it looks like it adds a nice spot to secure a travel bag Chupaca were did you get that cool rack :ohyea:

:congrats: on the bike!
You may want to PM Rattigan_Roger, or Clueless; I think that they're both out there near P'Burgh somewhere... :D

I would like to apologize to you guys for the long stretch between my answer. I was off line for a while and finally got things back in order. I now want to thank all of you for your answers and advice to my question. Due to my budget constraints I had to look for an RS model. I found a nice one at a local dealer. It is a white 2011 RSS that has been upgraded with a custom seat, handle bar risers, higher windshield, wind deflectors and a nice set of Kury road pegs. The nice thing about it is that it only has about 225 miles on it. I am going to get it in about a week. Hard to wait but the weather here is rotten right now. No riding weather for about a week.

Once again I apologize and thank you all for your answers.

Congrats on the purchase. You did exactly what I did. I bought an '08 GS in '12 with only 100 miles on it. I added the 25" windscreen, deflectors, bar risers, Givi top box, Givi saddlebags, floorboards, footrests etc.
I could not afford an RT model so did what I had to, to get a Spyder as my knees would no longer support a heavy 2 wheeler or allow me to move it around the garage. Twice had to enlist my neighbors help to assist me to pick up my Goldwing.

Hope you get a lot of pleasure from it.

Thanks for the lead. It would be nice to talk to some locals. This is my first 3 wheeler after riding on and off since 1962. It seems I have a lot to forget and a lot to learn. Should be fun.

The really nice thing was that the goodies are already on it. There are, of course, a few other things that I would like to do. All in good time. As far as enjoying it, I think that is a given. I know what you mean about moving the bike around. That is the main reason for me switching and my bike is only about 550 lbs. The old legs are giving out I guess. Now, if this rotten weather would just go away.
