• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Suggestions on mufflers

Hey everyone - I have read various threads and gone to YouTube and listened to the muffler videos and am ready to pull the trigger and replace the stock muffler! I am not as big on the sound as I am on increasing the performance of the bike AND I would like to replace it myself. Who likes what muffler and why? Thanks for your input - GO2LKG :read:

I have the Micron, I got it from no magic, they are out of business now but NMN may have some left. I love the sound, it is on the louder side but it sounds great!! As for the performance side I don't really know as i installed it right after getting my spyder. Only had about 100 miles on it. I did see a past post where someone was selling one if NMN doesn't have any left.

Please correct me if i am wrong, but i think power increase will be the same with most pipe as they are mostly slip on...

installation will be the same for most pipe. (undo 2 screw and undo the spring, thats all it takes to remove the stock exhaust pipe) I have the twobrother racing pipe. Is a bit loud, but i purchase their power tip which will tone down the loudness, and i felt difference in torque immediately. the cost was reasonable, $399. compare to other more pricy exhaust...

EXHAUST

I AM CLOSE TO MY FINAL DECISION. I TALKED TO STEVE AT MBRP. THEY HAVE A NICE EXHAUST FOR THE SPYDER. IN STOCK FORM IT IS ABOUT AS LOUD AS THE HINDLE. THEY ALSO HAVE AN INSERT THAT WILL MAKE IT QUIETER THAN THE HINDLE. I HAVE LOUD PIPES ON MY VTX1300 "LOVED THEM THEN, HATE THEM NOW".
CALL MBRP AT 1-888-636-7223 ASK FOR STEVE THE SPYDER GUY.
OR GO TO MBRP.COM
DO ALOT OF "LOOKIN' BEFORE YOU LEEP".

I'll irritate everyone and vote for stock. Less noise (but not as sneaky as my BMWs)...better for long trips. The Spyder already has more than sufficient power, too. Why crave more than you need? Perfectly satisfied with the stock pipe, and don't even notice the burn mark anymore. In five months, only one person has ever even mentioned it.

I'm coming in line with your way of thinking Scotty. One of my reasons is 'Less Noise, better for long trips'. If the stock muffler wasn't so big and the Hindle wasn't so good looking on the Spyder, it would be a slam dunk decision for me to ditch the Hindle and go back to stock. Just in case, I'm going to ask Magic Man to bring one of those muffler gaskets to Gatlinburg so I can go back to stock if and when I decide to.
