• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sudden onset rough running engine! Any Guesses why/what??

This morning I headed out for a little ride. Everything was great for five or 10 minutes and then the engine started running very rough.
I was only able to get the spider back home by keeping the RPMs high.
Now this is not a lot of information but, what would you GUESS?
It is a real bear to get a sick Spyder to my not-so-local dealer!!

Thanks a bunch!

Any fault codes or warnings displayed? Could it be bad gas? We need more info to be able to help.

No codes.
But, I was thinking gas too. A personal emergency kept me from riding for almost a year.
Thanks, I'm gonna work on that first.

If it has been sitting for a year, I'm not sure you can call it a 'Sudden Onset'. Gas, fuel filter, and injectors would be the place to start. Especially if it is an ethanol blend.

I would start with draining all the gas out of it, then go get some FRESH fuel and a bottle of seafoam, or Tectron injector cleaner. That may get you back going, but you're most likely going to have to replace the fuel filter also, those I would get two of, one to replace the one you have in there now and a spare for the next time you don't put it away in a better way! Stabil is your friend but riding it would be better! Good luck and let us know how you made out!
