• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sturgis?

I was in Sturgis for the 75th party. I stayed at a campground and it cost me $50.00 per night including electricity and breakfast. Got lunch at the street vendors (yes that was outrageous, but not unexpected). Loved being with all the people and bikes. Spent one whole day sitting on a bench watching the people and bikes go by, a fantastic experience. Spearfish,Iron Mountain,Devils Tower, stayed away from Rushmore. Went to Wall Drug,Badlands National Park. Wall is a tourist trap but it was fun and besides I was a tourist. Picked up some poor lost newby at a gas station who didn't know what he was doing and his buddies had left him,so had him tag along with me for awhile. I think I tired him out tho as he disappeared after Badlands.

You can have a lot of fun at Sturgis and it is fun to watch the madness, just don't get carried away yourself and you'll be OK. If you are careful you don't have to spend a lot of money. I will go again tho I am also getting some other rides out of the way that I have always wanted to do so it may be awhile. I will say,I went in the 90's and it was a lot wilder then.I don't know if a stronger LEO presence as calmed things down or old age. Lot of gray hair and wrinkles.

Funny. We are over in Elk Creek Village off exit 44.

If my plans fall thru in Whitewood I think I'll be camping in the front yard of 2 possible prospects. LOL :roflblack::yes::yes::yes:

Just kidding!!!............................................... Or am I???

I'll be heading that way on Fri Aug 4th. Be staying in Whitewood N/W of Sturgis. I will be camping. Cant afford the small sheds/cabins.

Are you staying in Whitewood, or camping at the Whitewood campground? If it is the campground, I can't find much on them anymore. I see they went bankrupt and their web site is no longer in use? If that was your plan and they are not there anymore, I recommend http://www.shadevalley.com/ It is a very nice place. We will be going that way on the 4th as well.

Yes sadly I am aware that bridge is out.
I do appreciate you passing the info on though.

Don't know when your trip is but my wife and I did part of that trip last week and G16 out of Monterey to the 101 and G14 down to Paso Robles is a nice detour around Big Sur.

I'm actually going up with a group that rented out a house just South of town. I'll be camping in the back yard but still have access to the house. Plans are to RIDE ALL DAY and party all night. I cant' wait, it's my first time at Sturgis. Fri 8-4 we are ridding about 490 miles to Valentine NE for a stop over then Sat 8-5 finish out the 240 miles to Whitewood SD.
