There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Stuck in park

Hey guys. I've never posted in here before. Never had a problem before until know. I've got a 2011 RT. it has electric shift. Right know it's stuck in park. The button will not release the parking brake when pushed. Still has the factory battery in it. Was guessing the battery may be a little weak to run the electronics. Not sure. Got it on charge know. Thanks for any help with this. Tim

Same thing happened to my 2015 RTL. It's at the dealership. They said it's in the electronics, probably a sensor. Don't know how to release the brake. A tech at the dealership may be able to help you. Hope this helps

Look at the rear brake and you will see the cable attachment to a pivot arm. That is the parking brake cable. You should see at the end of the cable housing an adjustable fitting and lock nut that can be adjusted with an open end wrench, a 12 mm on my 2014. If you unscrew the adjusting nut, CCW toward the cable housing you might be able to get enough slack to remove the loop on the end of the cable from the pivot arm. It won't solve your electric problem but may let you get the Spyder home or to the dealer.

:agree:
So I'm guessing that your bike wouldn't start? Why not jump start it, and then pop the brake? :dontknow:
Thanks Bob. The bike starts right up and runs fine. I even turned on the charger and made sure it had a full charge. Checked it with my meter. Battery was great. When I push the button to let off the brake I get nothing. Going to try the taking loose the cable tomorrow and getting it to the dealer. They said the cable my have broken. Will keep trying. Thanks for the advise.

One thing to add, is before you release the brake, put a wheel chock under your wheels so it doesn't roll away while you are on the ground. I had to release the brake on my 2013 and was lucky that I had an SM and it was in gear but there was a split second when I wasn't sure if it was going to roll over me or down the hill. :yikes:

Had it happen to my 2011 RT, found it to be dirty connections at the park brake switch, unplugged connector at switch, cleaned, reconnected, ok, brake released.

Parking brake cable fell off front pulley

For what is it worth, our 2012 RTS-SE5 luckily had the cable fail OFF of PARKED MODE---instead of being stuck "ON". That would be the pits!

Took the bike to Pitbull and the cable had slipped off the front pulley. They fixed it and put a cable tie on it so it will never happen again!!!!!

That was our experience!
