• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

stuck glovebox

i have a 2012 rt and keep my tire gauge and ear plugs in my glove box. never had a problem getting it open before, but now its stuck and wont open. (spyder is not locked). anyone have a tip on how to open it?

Too complicated to explain here. Your best bet is to visit your dealer. The dealer needs to fix it anyway.

Do you by chance have a Corbin seat? If so, raise the seat and then try the release. Mine and several others have developed this problem. Solution is to remove the seat lock. :dontknow:

spyderden, i have a stock seat. scotty, i kind of figured that would be the answer. thank you for both for replying.

If you have a shop manual, you could strip things down to get to it. Probably the lock cable is out of adjustment...although the latch could have failed. It could even just need lube. Gotta get to it first, though.

Cable?

What cable would that be? The glovebox on my 2012 RTS is a push to unlock and push to lock latch at the lower end of the lid. I don't think there is a cable involved. I did have a problem with mine once because I had filled it too full, and couldn't push it far enough down to cause it to unlatch, but I played with it long enough to finally get it unlatched.

There is a cable that disables the latch when you turn the handlebars to lock the steering. That locks the glovebox, too. Good point about being able to push it down. If you have too much crap in there, and you can't push down, it won't unlatch.

youre right about it being too complicated scotty (at least for me). if it involves having to strip it down, then it needs to go to the dealer. thankfully its nothing mechanical that keeps me from ryding so it can wait until i need to take it in for the next maintenance appt. thank you

I have the perfect tool to fix this

It's my favorite tool

CHAINSAW!

sorry I have no other advice.

Ours did the same thing the day we picked it up from the dealer. The latch had failed....and yes the mirrors and side panels will need to come of to get at it.
