• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will the 7mm socket work on my 2106 RT Special?

No sure since I have not been able to get mine off. I think you have to cut the boot off so you can get to the nut. Some say to twist the antenna until it breaks and then you can get to the nut. I have not been able to snap mine by twisting with pliers. If you have better luck, tell us how you did it.

My boot looks like it just rotated under the metal flanges. It obviously came off pretty easily once it was ready.

When it comes to antennas, size is king. Optimum 1/4 wave for FM is 31-inches and you will be hard pressed to find one that long to fit your Spyder. You can forget about this as for a 1/4 wave AM antenna at 1000kHz would be 234-feet long! :yikes: As far as CB radio is concerned, you will have to go with the factory BRP CB antenna or something similar. Probably a wound or coiled whip. Remember ... 1/4 wave CB antennas are 109-inches long! I've just found that my factory AM/FM antenna spins freely in its mount, SO ... I'm gonna have to look into this myself. N2YVK 73's
