• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What does the second s stand for. I am being charged double for my insurance because Allstate says my STS is a sport bike ???

Its a trim level common across the whole Spyder range. RSS, STS & RTS.

Mostly cosmetic differnces, same engine(s), HP etc.

I wonder if that is why my Allstate is so expensive.

I need to get back to looking around again....it's on a separate policy anyway on mine.

ST stands for Sport Touring.

The -S is Sport which is the trim level which includes mostly cosmetic changes, a different seat, cruise control, floorboards.

Nothing "sporty" is added in the -S trim level on the ST model.

Most insurance companies were quite confused when the ST's first came out this year and charged a LOT for them. Mine doubled going from a GS to an ST with State Farm (from $600/yr to $1200/yr)

Progressive, on the other hand, is only $400 a year for $500k CSL, total loss coverage with a $1k ded, pay loss coverage $250/wk (it's something), accessory coverage, towing, trip interruption pretty much every checkbox maxed out.

Time to shop around.

It sounds like your agent or the company office is confusing your ST with a crotch rocket type of machine. Maybe a picture or two to your agent will help.

Never had a problem when I had my RS and GS versions of Spyder. With State Farm. My current RT's cost $50 and $55 per month. Rates vary for a gazillion reasons though from person to person.

New agent..!!

the key letter in your case is the "T". Touring takes you out of the crotch rocket world he is trying to put you in. Weather you are a sport/ralley or any other classification tourer you are in the bagger category. I would shop around...
