• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Strong GAS Smell After Ride

Gas drips with fumes after riding

Had the same problem. Check under the spyder there a black overflow hose from the evap canister. Mine was so bad that there was drips of fuel coming out this hose. They changed the evap canister and problem disappeared. I still do get the smell of fuel after a long ride and usually when the tank is below half, but no drips coming out the hose, but occassionally can see whisps of fumes.

Took out the bike for a ride yesterday, about an hour on city streets. Came home, parked it on the patio, walked around it & smelled gas. Of course I got nervous right away so I started lokking around under it. Tank wa not full, about 3/4 full and I never overfill when gassing up. I looked under the "passenger" side near the front pedal and about 6" in and 6" forward of that area I noticed what sems like a little tube sticking out. Best I can tell without jacking it up. About every minute a drop of something was dripping and I can see fumes. It stopped after about 5-10 minutes and the smell went away too. Is this the same thing you refer to above? Should I be concerned & take it in to have the evap canister checked? Or based on what/where I describe, does this sound like a different issue? Wondering, mine is a 2012 RTS, only 400 miles on it, should be covered unde waranty no? Any suggestions, advice is appreciated. One more question, if I have to take it in for service, is it ok to ride or should I have it towed? Thanks for your help!

My new 13 RTS had a horrible fuel smell when parked in the garage overnight and we were really worried about fire with it. I took mine back to the dealer and they had it for a week and said they checked everything BRP told them to check and everything is fine. I think they found something and fixed it cause it has never happened since. Clearly they found or fixed something cause I don't believe it would just fix itself. Side note: mine would smell like gas regardless of how much was in the tank.

I fill mine to the top of the neck and have never had any fumes; however, the "new" cap does not stay tightly closed. Doesn't even clik when opened. I've swapped it for a Stant brand cap you can buy at any auto store, or stop by your friendly junk yard and get one off any car for about nothing.

I would have the dealer take a look at it. The evap system has a few parts that can fail including the purge valve. If that does it will start ruining the canister it needs to open to remove the build up caused by tank pressure.
