• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Street Magis RT Scuff Guards

I ordered my SM RT Scuff Guards(they're back ordered) and would like to know if anyone else has them? Or have had them installed or installed them on their own?
Down loaded the install photots and the instructions, seems a little on the difficult side to me. Just wondering if it's me or did anyone else think so too?

Havem', Installedm', Likem'.

Not a real difficult install if you take your time and follow the directions, if your concerned, maybe get the help of a member that lives near or just have your dealer do it at an oil change, should not cost a real lot to install.

Same here.

The installation instructions look far more complicated than they actually are. I found that the detail contained in some of the pictures were difficult to decipher because of the black on black composition of the photos. The key to this install for me was understanding how to remove the air wing from the RT. If you can do that and drill two holes in the top of the wing for mounting the scuff guards you can easily do this mod.

After removing your panels covering the oil reservoir and radiator you will see the push pin and #30 Torx bolt that need to be removed. If you peek below the Spyder, underneath the air wing, you will see how the plastic protrusions support the air wing and how easily they can be disconnected from the tabs. With wings removed, separation of the halves and mounting of the scuff guards is pretty straight forward.
When re-installing the air wings to the Spyder you will need to replace the original push pin with the supplied #27 Torx bolt and threaded block. It can be a bit tricky getting this bolt started while holding the threaded block from the back side, but once it is started the bolt screws readily into the block. The final step requires you to ensure that the anchors are firmly in place in the tabs beneath the wings.
I suggest doing a dry run, following the instructions, to see if removing the air wings is something you are comfortable with. If the answer is yes, and you can drill two small pilot holes, then this is definitely a DIY mod.
