• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stock RT Seat recovering - Looking for suggestions

I have a 2010 Spyder RT-S SE5 Model

It is now out of warranty and the stitching on the seat has started to come undone - rather than just get the stitching redone
because the seat is also showing its age, I an now considering getting the seat recovered as I am more than happy with the stock seat and I have the Utopia backrest fittted
Has anyone had their seat recovered and if so - What designs, Materials etc did you use

Any information and pictures of the worked carried out would be useful

Thanks

is it coming apart at the horn...? there are a few posts about this previously. and there is a fix to it, if you are interested.

A good upholsterer should be able to take care of you. Choose one with bike experience. You should make any changes in the seat contour or foam density when you have the work done. Most good custom covers are more durable than the OEM covers, if you choose the right material and a good craftsman.

seat work

I had my seat redone by Tim Bruder @ [email protected]. don't have any pictures, but he made it more like a can am comfort seat, matched leather/vinyl perfectly and installed gas door. Tell him Dan from Macs sent you!

I would go with a leather cover, more upkeep but also more breathability. Also see if you can add a slim gel pad on the top of the seat it will really make a difference on long rides and also provide a little waterproofing to the seat.

What was the name of that fabric adhesive that seemed to work so well??
My memory is still fogged up this morning... :opps:
