• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Stock Rear Tire

Ron, you just went in a different direction from my post ...but I agree 110 % with what you are saying also.....why people feel they have to follow the company line on absolutely everything is beyond me.....but I suspect more than a few who defend the Kenda's are using NON-BRP RISERS and that is a no - no......Mike...Rock on Ron

Everyone sees this differently and there isn't anything wrong with the Kenda's. I'm for putting all the information out there and letting people make an informed decision. Everyone should run the tire they want (as long as it's safe).

I'm not saying everyone should see this my way (though I'm not against it ;)). We all think our opinion is the best. That's what makes the world go around!

I bought an extra set of Spyder eom tires for about 30% off at a going out of business sale. I have over 5,000 miles on the eom tires and have 86% tread to the wear strips. I hope to get 25,000 to 30,000 miles out of eom tires. So far the eom tire have performed very well. That's IMHO.

KENDA'S

MikeinGa, some people are getting phenominal mileage out of their Kenda tires, but that does not seem to be the norm and that makes me concerned that Kenda is not making a consistant tire......ie. they are not ALL phenominal.....WHY....they do make lots of mtc. tires and have for years .....they also make passenger car tires again for years.......WHY is the wear record for SPYDER tires so inconsistant ?????????......Mike......:thumbup:

BRP bought the mold for the Kenda tire. That is why it can only be bought at a dealer. Take the tire off yourself and any discount tire shop can change and balance. So can most motorcycle shops. Only thing you have to worry about is tension and alignment of belt. Kenda is a gripping tire so wears fast. But is is not a good tire. Kenda makes bicycle tires. And this piece of crap. Falken is a good one.

Sandrunr1: You said tire shops can balance the rear tire;
Do they really fit on standard tire shop balance machines?
If so, thats great news for me as mine will soon need replacing and several local tire/gas sta shops will do the work.

Local Can Am shop is recommending the Kumho Ecsta to tune of $140 + $83 mount/bal. Gonna try to take tire off myself.

Rear Tires

My :spyder2: got 15,000 miles out of the rear and replaced it with Nitto NT450 which is a mud and snow tire. I have 20,000 on my RT:spyder2: and the fronts look like maybe 30,000 miles and will be replaced with a car tire.
I had the mich. rain tires on a 94 Buick which I bought out in Az and when I got home in Ohio every thing was great till it snow, Could not get it to move in snow and could not get it to stop so if you are going that way keep in mind of your weather conditions. Every thing locked up on brakes real easy and sit there and sp[in in the snow. Change them to all weather tire. My :spyder2: handles well with this tire a furmer ride and less flex on curves. So the fronts will be replaced with the car tires. By the way my :spyder2: dealer put my tire on and for me with out any problem. So check with your dealer if they will or not.

Take the wheel weights off and put Ride-On in the tire. You'll be able to skip the balance and you'll have a virtually bullet proof tire as well.
