• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stock muffler drilling? If you please...

Just checking back to see if anyone new has drilled out the stock muffler from the back side and what your overall thoughts were on sound improvement. I know most everybody has gone with aftermarket muffler setup, but I only want a little more sound and don’t want to spend any more than I have to get it. Please if you have done it let me know what you thought. Good or bad, Thanks!

I think you'd need to mess with the catalytic converter to make and decent increase.... and no matter what you do that thing is still going to be butt-ugly.;)

Been awhile since I had seen a Spyder with the stock pipe on it until I was at my dealer this past week---- can't get over how honking huge that thing is!

:agree: Butt-ugly :yikes:

Going to put my stock muffler back on for the trip to Pigeon Forge ( Gatlinburg for some ) as I find the Hindle loud on long trips !

use ear plugs(serves 2 purposes loud muffler and the wife talking):roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

:agree:

Should ALWAYS wear ear protection-- wind noise is horrible on the ears--- then add the exhaust and you're doing even more damage.

Dude... But I can fit so much more stuff in my stock pipe than I can a Hindle.

I love my stock muffler! I guess it's my age and the fact that I hate NOISE! I tried the Warrior, Micron and another one (I forget the name) and switched back to the stock and have never looked back.

By the way, my stock has the "thing-of-a-jig" that was provided free that covers the burn spot. I had to drill the stock muffler to install it so I guess my muffler fits the description of having been "drilled". :roflblack:

By the way, I need another "thing-of-a-jig" for my wife's Spyder, if anyone has one for sale. The dealership that provided me with one went out of business.:dontknow:

How did you make with your idle problem?
Did you have to leave it at Palmer's?

Bill

Yep, brought it in today 8 am, Jason was puzzled, Will try to figure it out hopefully in a day or two.
At this point i don't care how long it takes.
It was in the shop the whole month of July for an ECM,
So back then when they said the part was OBO and knowing BRP's track record ,
I bought a new Kawasaki the second day it was in the shop,
I just felt naked with out a bike to ride. So when they fix it they'll give me a call.
Mean while i can still ride the Kawasaki.

stock can mod

don't do it. the assembly is complex and it will always rattle internally... did it when great aftermarket pipes were in the thinking stages as i couldn't take the vespa like stock sound. very happy with two brothers dual.
