• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have been looking at Spyders, and have kind of settled on the RT. Seems like it would be a better fit for me at this stage. I have looked at the RT Limited and the RT. Realizing you get more with the Limited but at a cost. The question is at this point is a dealer has a used 2020 RT with 200 miles that they took in on trade for a side by side. It still has some warranty left and they are asking 19,500. They have a 2021 Limited for 27,299. I am thinking that I can add all the options I would like to have like drivers back rest, top case, passanger arms, GPS and support, and have enough left ~ 4k to buy a trailer to haul it. Does this logic make sense to seasoned riders? Also, any thing I'm missing in things that are important to add ie. suspension, etc. Thanks in advance for the help to a beginner wanting to be a part of a new adventure.

All but the top case would be add-ons for the RTL anyway, so looks like you would be in good shape with the 2020. Better strike quick, though.

Do you need the heated seat, extra chrome? If you don't then pass. I think your idea is just great. Find out from the dealer how much warranty is left and have them put a couple of years of the Best warranty in the deal. This has to be done before your factory warranty expires.

Can-am is currently having a $2000 rebate on new 2020 RT. I went to look at one RTL in a local dealership here in Salt Lake area, still in create, the price is $25,199. Taxes, fees, etc extra. I think it is a better deal since the top case is a very expensive add-on by itself.
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies and the help. What is “Best Warranty”?

BEST warranty is the BRP offered warranty. It is on top of the standard 2 year warranty that a new Spyder comes with. You can get an additional three years.

The fine points: You do not have to buy BEST at the purchase of your machine. You do have to get the BEST before the original warranty expires.

You do NOT have to buy it from the dealer you purchased the Spyder from.

Prices vary big time. We have heard of some dealers charging an additional $2,000 for the three year extension. iMotorsports for one offers the same three years for around $700. There are a couple other "low ballers" out there. Anyone who pays over $1,000 for BEST got taken to the cleaners and got extra starch. IMO of course and no charge for the advice.

I would go with the 2020 RT Base and use the money saved to upgrade the suspension (sway bar, tires, shocks).
