There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Congrats for using blinkers at all 
(PARKED) Try pushing in on the switch & working it back & forth several times. I'm not sure about cleaning exactly, I haven’t personally tried any cleaners to know reactions (if any) on the plastics & electronics. They are sealed to handle rain & dust. I have read of few cluster failures on various years.

x2 on WD-40, it shouldn't do any harm that I can think of, altho some will say it will attract dirt. If you're concerned about that, a dry lube will work! You say it's sticking, do you mean it sticks to the point of having to tap it to get it to stop; or is it staying over to the left and you have to push it back over to the middle to make it stop?
