• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So, I'm sitting in my office today, and some dude comes thru the front door to ask if we would part with some old crates we have out back. My office manager is talking with him. He takes packages to FedEx for his company often; we are located beside FedEx, so he has seen my Spyder out front several times, and mentions it. My office manager says "Yeah, that's Anita's.", and the guy is surprised that a woman rides it. Then he mentions the 'great paint job', where my office manager takes it upon herself to enlighten him...

"Oh, that's not paint; it's stickers."

Technically, she's right, but still... makes my graphics sound like something a 5-year-old did while picking his nose, not something that cost several hundred dollars and took me 4 painstaking hours to apply. :gaah:

Unfortunately there are folks out there that the mouth goes into gear while the brain is in neutral. Pic looks great.

Agreed. "Ignoromas Extremus". A fair amount of cars use vinyl as well. Pretty much the industry standard.

1. Corvette
2. Camaro
3. Charger
4. Challenger
5. Mustang

1. Honda CBR
2. Kawasaki Ninja
3. Yamaha FZR

Sounds like your boss is a bit envious. Your spyder looks great !

Same thing happened to me when I had my wrap....'nice paintjob!' - "its not paint, its a vinyl wrap." - 'oh, really? Looks good!'

Then I scratched a panel on my right fender getting too close to the trailer of a semi, forgetting about the drop bumper behind the rear wheels. And its now painted.

If anybody used the "S-word" around my vinyl, I'm prettty sure that the Missus would stomp them. While applying it; she had to peel it back every time we saw a wrinkle forming... :gaah: I kind of stayed out of her way and held the knife so that she wouldn't stab me with it. :yikes:

Great results sometimes require great trials and tribulations to make them so very precious! :2thumbs:

Some of us are still paying for our bikes, and that leaves us a bit short of the necessary green to pay somebody to do the things tht we can do if we are so provoked...

Flamingobabe - Oh dear God; you couldn't photoshop me out of that pic??? Eek. But Clyde is a handsome fellow, isn't he?

Bob - You are absolutely right; I could not have afforded the graphics if I paid for installation. As a matter of fact, one local company wouldn't even quote graphics unless they installed them. 2 men at $70.00 per hour EACH, with an estimated 4 hours work time. So I saved myself $560 by doing it myself, and probably have better graphics than they could have produced. I think I did a decent job; almost everybody asks where I had it done, commenting on how great it looks. My only air bubbles were on the trunk; that thing is a :cus: to apply those thick vinyl sheets to, but I'm the only one who knows they were there!

A tip on how to rid yourself of bubbles, take a sharp pin and prick the area, then squeegee the vinyl towards the pinprick pushing out any air trapped.
