• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stereo on w/ key off

Is it possible to have the stereo continue playing while the ignition is turned to off? I tired different things and found that holding the mode switch while turning the key to the off position causes the stereo to come on, but it goes back off after about 30 seconds or so. There is no accessory position...seems like there should be some way to do it. I did not see where the manual talks about this.

Yeah, good luck with that Chris....

In my manual, last paragraph on page 28 to be precice... and I quote

"NOTE: The radio can be kept on for approximately 15 minutes atter the ignotion switch has been turned off. Press and hold the MODE button while turning OFF the ignition switch to activate this function. This proceedure has to be done every time the extra power time is needed."

Have posted this on the forum before and nobody had any joy.
Bloody annoying actually, to have music and not be able to listen to it whilst not riding.

I'm sure the time for mine is about the same...I did not time it as such. So, what is the purpose for this? Should 15 seconds actually be 15 minutes? :dontknow:

Sitting at a park not being able to listen to a ball game on the bike's stereo without running the engine is unfortunate...

Why would the stereo be important to putting away gloves and helmet?

Chris

Chris, You must be kidding, you weren't aware of the contest going on for the fastest biker :doorag: to be able to
remove both gloves and helmet, stowed away in less than 15 seconds, currently the leader has
been clocked at 13.8 seconds. better get busy practicing rather than listening to ball
games........strike 3 your out

my other very wise assumption is thisworks like a cars exit lights only stay on for a short amount of
time to disembark.

or

I could be wrong, but I bet it is a misprint, and should have been seconds, btw can't you get radio reception from your ipod?

wish there was a BRP rep that could answer this !

Have you tried listening faster? Sorry... I couldn't help it. :2thumbs:

Turning the key back on only runs the parking lights after you shut the bike off. Thus being able to run the radio. NO headlights stay on preventing accelerated battery run down. The front fender lights and rear tail lights are what stay on I believe (parking). Need the automotive type timer that is used on new cars today.

I believe more is running than just what you see in that position. You are one button press from starting the bike when the key is on and mode is pushed which would have to occur. There must be some logical reason this "feature" was programmed in. I still do not see any mention of this in my owner's manual. Someone knows something...

I just wanted to throw this out there... In all reality, this is a computer, and someone somewhere will find a way to re-program a few items. Or at least... I Hope anyway, BRP could do a little programming themselves with an update allowing this feature.

My fear is... The way the key "Fob" is designed, there are so many options already built in that they had to sacrifice a few items in order to get long term trouble free ability out of the features we already have. :dontknow:

I just tried all kinds of combination's with buttons and turning the key off... Even got the Limp Mode to activate once :roflblack:... No go on longer than 15 seconds :(
