• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

funny thing happened today that i never noticed before ..... now i havent had update done on either spyder ...still waiting to see results of everyone who has ... me and dee stopped at icecream stand to get a drink ....we pulled in on each side of a goldwing ...when he moved i didnt like the way her bike was sticking out so i said i would move it for her ... now i have driven her spyder a couple times but maybe twice since she got it ... but never noticed that hers steers easy real easy like going from manual steering to power ...i never noticed it but i dont think my power steering ever worked .... i should go for update but i have riden this thing for 15000 miles and i guess i got adjusted to it...

I put 7,500 miles on mine with no power steering what-so-ever.

Lamont took it for a spin one day and said "Hey, did you know your PS doen't work?".

He thought it had quit. But when I rode it, it seemed fine because I didn't know any better. It was the only Spyder I'd ever ridden.

A little stiff in hard turns but you do get used to it. When I got my steering fixed I had to be careful. I was oversteering!

I did not know the power steering did not work on my SM5 until we got our SE5 10 months later! :yikes:

I never thought it was that hard to begin with.

You all must be big strong men! Well, I know Jamie and Evan are anyway. I know I'd be hurting if my PS didn't work!!!

Years ago my mother had one of the first Subaru's in the US and that thing was murder to steer. I drove it once and thought she was crazy to put up with that. Sure enough, for whatever reason, power steering didn't work!

When it does work steering the Spyder is near effortless. I can practically just "think" where I want it to go, and it goes there.

My steering assist went out the week before we got the updates done. By the third day without it, I had pretty much gotten used to the feel. It was only really noticeable in slow speed turns. When we got to the dealership, BUDS couldn't "see" my DPS and I had to wait almost two weeks for a new DPS from BRP. Just giving you an idea of one of the possibilites when you do take your Spyder in.

Where I really notice the difference is when I do something like the Dragon where there are a lot of sharp turns at speed, one after the other. That was a workout without PS.

Lamont didn't seem to be working nearly as hard but I figured he was just more manly than I.

So I go in get the steering up date and wonder if its going to make any difference-----as so many have said.????
I was shocked how much difference it made.-----It jumped from a 1950 farm truck to a Corvette in its steering.
I am now a happy camper--- I may never had PS
