• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Steering issue = yikes !

Many new cars are using electronally assisted power steering, yet i don't hear of any problems with them. I think the sticking toyota gas pedal problem would be miniscule compared to a suddenly lurching right or left and stuck steering wheel malfunction in an automobile, they would be all over it to find what the problem was and fix it. I can imagine a 5000 lb. car jerking to the right and running up over a sidewalk or bus bench, this has been going on for over 2 years now with the spyder. BRP needs to put more research into fixing this potentially deadly problem, i don't get it!:dontknow:

steering issue

Hey monique, this is really freaky. My problems compounded on the same ride in CANADA, is this an omen or like another member said, perhaps the SPYDER does not like company ??????????? HMMMMMMMMM:dontknow:

Third DPS?!?

Hey Doc,

Since you're working on your 3rd DPS... Could it be that you have an alignment problem that is making the DPS work overtime and going out, or do you think you're receiving original DPS units and seeing the original type of failure? Is the recall replacement unit upgraded in any way?

Tim

The front alignment is sound: replaced the original front tires around 60K...

Sounds like GA and SC need some new Spyder service techs.
:agree:

91 days without Spyder for DPS steering issue earlier this year.

Day 41 without Spyder currently because it wouldn't start and was stuck in gear

3 service depts. since December.

I have great techs in Columbus, it took sooo long to get parts at the first of the year from BRP, I don't blame the service dept. at all. They would call me pretty often even if it was to say that no parts came in that day. Don't get that very often.

You trying to break a world record??:joke:
I was hoping I wouldn't break yours!
Yeah I'm now waiting for BRP to start a pin Program; Maybe a 3M 6M 1Y pins?
I should be getting my 3 month pin any day now! Less than 8 weeks to my six month mark!nojoke

...Maybe a patch would be good... say a yellow :spyder: covered in cobwebs, sitting in the back of a service dept. garage?

Way too long to be without a ride. I haven't heard of other brands of bikes that keep things in the shop THIS long.

BRP we know is totally hosed when it comes to getting parts in a timely manner but I'm sure there are some hosed up dealers too.

I love my Spyder but I do not like reading stories about owners waiting anywhere from a couple of weeks to over three months. That is insane.
