Thanks for contacting IPJ, actually we just released our first prototype at the Joint Motorcycle Safety Event at the Pentagon last Friday and then again yesterday at Langley Air Force Base in Va.
The new 2nd generation jacket now inflates in 30 milliseconds (same as your car airbag) and has many more enhanced safety features.
We are looking to go to production this summer. :clap:

Thanks for the opportunity to speak directly to the Spyder community. We are very excited about the release of the 2nd. Generation Impact Jacket towards the mid-late part of the summer. Recently, we were invited back by the Pentagon(May 1st) to support the 3rd annual Joint Services Motorcycle Safety Event, we took the opportunity to debut the new jacket with great success.

I was able to personally show the new technology to the Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Air Force Safety(Maj.General) Chief of Navy Safety(Rear Admiral) and a host of other officials at the Pentagon. They all liked the new jacket very much. Once when they saw the demo video that shows several high speed inflations and a couple real time inflations, they were able to get a better appreciation of the time to inflation.

Last year approx. 124 soldiers died in motorcycle related accidents. Now, motorcycle related accidents are the second (war being the first)leading cause of death for the American Soldier. With me being a veteran(U.S.Army Military Police) I take this very seriously and that's one of the reasons for making a better jacket. I hope to be apart of the solution to bring those horrible numbers down, it has now become a passion of mine.

Our 2nd. Gen. Jacket is built with the latest in technology for airbag materials and airbag inflation devices, our new patented system uses materials and inflation devices that are DOT Approved, the only airbag jacket in the world to do so. The jacket now has a small computer on board that activates the jacket when in use and deactivates when it is not in use. Our jacket now has inflation times of 30 Milliseconds or just as fast as your car airbag system and faster than the Honda Goldwing airbag system. The entire inflation system is designed, tested and made in the USA.
