• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Starting

I have some concerns (don't I always) about how this machine starts when it is warm. When I had the RS it would start quickly the first time I hit the start button. After the RT warms up, I have to hit the button 2 or more times before it "kicks over" and then it starts to idle very slowly, so much so I wonder if it is going to really start. If I knew it would reliably start each and every time, I would not be concerned, but the way it sounds, it seems like I could be stranded at some point because it will refuse to start even after several attempts.

Am I the only one concerned about this or are there others experiencing the same problem?

It's old age

I did a search, and realized this issue has been noted, and in fact I replied to it. This has me worried. I am almost 57, and my RT post memory may be the first thing to go!

So as Rosanna Rossanedana used to say on Saturday night live-NEVER MIND

There is a known, warm-restart issue with the RTs. For now, it is best worked around by cracking the throttle slightly when restarting a warm Spyder. The factory is researching another cure.

If you are having the idle stay very low for a period of time, you may have other problems. I had this issue when I was fouling plugs, before they replaced my ingnition and ECM. It is gone now, the little chance I have had to test it. If starting remains hard even after you crack the throttle when warm, if you have long cranking when cold, or if your idle does not come up to speed in a second or two, you may have a fouled plug or other problems. I would recommend you report it to your dealer, in that case. Meanwhile, work around the warm restart issue, and be patient for an update that will resolve it completely.

This has to do with a valve overlap and it is being worked on. Not sure what the fix is going to be but they do know about it and are looking into the best way to solve this issue.
