• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Star Brite

Well we have been using it for over ten tanks of fuel now... Ran one tank without it and all the evil demons came back (Feels like it is missing every once in a while, reduced performance, etc). At the next fuel up (Always use the same two stations, just depends what side of town I am on at the time) all those "Have to look for them" but you will notice if you know they are there, went away.

Cannot say if gas mileage is better or worse. We do not keep track. That and way to many folks think one persons MPG should/might be theirs, when in all reality my wife and I live in a very hilly, stop and go community and our mileage would not match a lot of others. No vehicle we have ever owned has gotten the mileage we are told it would get :opps::cus:.

We like the StarTron and plan to continue to use it...
 
Been using it for awhile also. :spyder2: does seem to run smoother, but I haven't noticed any better milage either.
 
I never got past the Lucas Octane Boost! :D This stuff is just amazing. I cannot say with any certainty that it has improved MPG, but the engine sure is running better since I started using it. I don't put it in with every tank; about every third tank. But I like it!!
 
I've not noticed any difference in performance, smoothness or MPG from running Star Tron or the other 'magic elixir' that I got in Cuba.......

I know they both claim to use 'enzymes' to modify the fuel -- but just how quick could these 'enzymes' work anyway? I mean a tank is gonna be empty every 2 hours when riding.....:dontknow:

Enzymes move at the speed of light. Just like your gas gauge. :yikes:
 
Sold on Star Tron

Went on a 350 mile round trip Sunday (7/17). Put in 1 oz of Star Tron when I filled up to go and 1 oz in when I filled up for the return trip. I normally get about 29 MPG riding two up. When I got back I checked the mileage for the whole trip and got 37.29 MPG. I used 2.66 gallons less then I normally would @ $3.65/ gal. for a savings of $9.70. The Star Tron cost about $1.00 oz. So I saved $7.70 on a 350 mile trip.

So, I am sold on Star Tron. :2thumbs: Going to the Redwoods in August, will be about 700 mile round trip plus whatever we ride while there. I should save some $$ on gas. :ohyea:
 
1 or 2 tanks isn't enough to get an accurate mpg reading IMO. No way to fill the spyder tank with any degree of accuracy.

Try 5 tanks with and without and see what the difference is......

Fire, I've been using the product now for the last few fill-ups. I've gotten 33, 34.7, and 31.9mpg. This, with far better performance...how do I rate the performance? Certainly better acceleration...cleaner, it feels. I have all the bags on my bike and was averaging a little before 30 mpg before the addition. I have been riding very hard as of late, so these new numbers do indicate a bit of a positive change...plus, the engine feels like it is running a little better...then again, I might be getting fooled, but the mileage is up a little...
 
Your numbers on 3 tanks are exactly why a person needs to look at more than a tank or two for accurate mpg. I'd do 5-10 tanks with and without the magic elixir and then compare notes.

I know someguy and myself have noticed we seemed to get better mpg when riding hard.

A major factor is going to be whether the riding is highway or city. My spyder gets much better mpg in the city as the CHAD really kills mpg on the highway.

Well I guess the test for me will be in the first week in August, I will be putting about 900 miles on my Spyder. I am going to use Star Tron on the whole trip. I have already put about 6000 miles on it in the past year. So I should be able to tell if there is a difference I have a program called Gas Buddy on my iPhone where I have recorded every fill up, so I have a record of every gallon I have ever used. So by the time I get home I should be able to tell if Star Tron is worth the cost.
 
I've been using the additive since I first saw Majic Mans recommendation here on the forum.

Prior to using it I would get between 25 to 30 mpg, depending weather I was solo w/o trailer or dual w/ trailer.

Since using the stuff my mpg has not been under 30.5 w/ trailer 2 up
and I even got one tank running solo w/o trailer that was 39 mpg!

I did miss adding it to one tank and dropped back to 26.5 mpg. Next tank w/ additive went right back to over 30 mpg.

Just saying, in my opinion, IT WORKS.

Not very scientific but it works for me. Don't know if the Star Tron [brite] does works though??
 
There are oz. markings on the bottle. After you do it a couple of times, you can get it pretty close. A fraction of an ounce more or less isn't going to make that big of a difference, in my opinion.
 
I carry the small plastic cup from Night Quill. It has the 1 oz (30ML) line and I just put on top of the bottle.
 
Octane Rating

For those of you that think BRP is in cahoots with the Oil Co's and that is why they say a minimum of 91 Octane is recommended, I think you are all wet and do a disservice to our community.:gaah: The Rotax 998cc engine is a well built engine that puts out more horsepower than, say, a 1200cc Harley engine. One of the reasons for this is that the 12.2:1 compression ratio, of the Rotax engine, gets more air and fuel, hence more power, into the cylinder. The problem with these high compression ratios is that the air/fuel mixture can detonate just from the heat of compression. One way around this problem is to use a fuel type that has an anti-knock compound added to the fuel. This is why BRP(Rotax) recommends a minimum of 91 Octane. Now, if you use a fuel with 87 or 89 Octane your engine might very well "Ping" or "Knock". If your ECM detects pinging, it begins to RETARD THE TIMING until the ping goes away. This is why it may appear that your scoot runs fine with lower octane fuels. With the retarded timing, though, you may not get a complete burn and the result is LOWER POWER for each cycle that utilizes retarded timing.
Using a fuel additive would get around this problem but then the cost-effectiveness might suffer.
So, the 91 Octane recommendation is NOT a plot by BRP to take away your freedoms:lecturef_smilie: but rather is a recommendation to permit you to get the most out of your machine.:clap:
