• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stant Touchless Fuel Cap

I did the seat hinge access to the gas cap mod on my 2014 RT and like it very much. For additional convenience, I'm considering one of those "instant (touchless) gas caps" so I don't have to reach in the confined space of the gas cap...just stick the nozzle into the self sealing hole and pump the gas.

Anyone use a Stant or other instant fill fuel cap on your Spyder and what's your experience with it...

I don't have one on my Spyder, but I do have something similar for my 2012 Ford Focus.
It's fine as far as it goes, but you need a special funnel to fill it from a gas can if you ever run out of gas.
So far it works well, but I don't yet know how it will hold up in the long run.

GAS CAP

... A year ago I did a GAS DOOR that was very small compared to others I've seen ( 4 1/2 in. ) so I used a Perma-cap II. This is the same principle as the Stant that you have........works great....Mike ..

sorry, looking a part/model number for the quick fill gas cap(s)
stant and/or perm-cap
there are multiple ones that are the screw in type...they only indicate which is which for automobiles

You might see if the cap on your car or some other people's car will fit the Spyder and then find the one for that car.

yup...it's confusing...all gas caps that screw in have the same threads...my Spyder cap works on my Honda Van

I believe the issue is different fuel systems have different venting properties as in what pressure/vacuum some valve or vent opens from the cap...there are a couple of different model numbers of the Stant and the Easy Fill that are the screw in kind (the other kind are cam closing caps)

I know on my Honda Van, the check engine light will come on if the cap is not screwed in tight enough to hear at least "2 clicks". But I guess that's just to show it's tight and not venting from the cap

like I said, it's complicated to me

edit: here's a cap with all the specs that may or may not matter for a spyder
