• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

stains

Hi Don!
uhhh... we need just a wee bit more info before daring to hazard a guess...
Where are these drips coming from under the Spyder? Is there any color or odor associated with them?
Why am I feeling like a proctologist about now??

Sorry, is a little vague.

Coming from under the Spyder. No odor, cannot completely clean up with soap and water, may be staining the paint.

Yes they are consistent, approximately 1.5" diameter.

When you say "may be staining the paint", do you mean the paint on the spyder or that you've painted your garage floor? If you are meaning that it is staining the surface of the floor your spyder is sitting on, the only thing I can come up with is a leak in your coolant container, oil leak or gas leak. From the picture the stains appear to be minimal (meaning that there is a small amount of leakage each time you drive in to park).

If you are meaning that the stains are on your spyder, then only you can tell by looking at your spyder to see if there is a paint stain. I apologize if I'm sounding confusing, but I'm not sure what you mean by "may be staining the paint".

Chris, sounds like a cross exam:roflblack:

It's the floor of the garage.

I do apologize. Some times I get carried away. Guess it goes with the territory. I would think that you are having one of the three leaks. You might check out one of those.

I've also placed a mat on my garage floor and taped it down with duct tape. When I pull in, I pull in on the mat. The mat doesn't move around because of the tape.

Bottom line though is that you need to find the source.
Hope this helps. "No more questions your honor" "Your witness counselor" :D:D:D

Front or back of the Spyder:popcorn:If it's coming from the back and staining the painted garage floor could be gas and a little condensation mix from the charcoal canister's, vent hose.??

Okay. I looked under the Spyder and it is apparently coming from a hose below the cooling side of the machine. Checked the cooling level and it appears to be perfect, right on the max line.

One of our members actually had a "hair line" crack in his coolant container. Originally they thought his hose was too short. After much research, they, the dealer, ran some dye through the coolant container and spotted a hair line crack. Might want to check that out.

The smell of the liquid can tell you a lot. Possibilities are coolant, oil from the airbox, or condensed fuel vapors from the emissions system vent. If it is coolant, you may have a loose hose clamp.

It seems that no one else is experiencing this. I still am. It is definately coming out of the hose under the coolant bottle. It's not much liquid but it happens every time I park it.

Roger, I tasted it and couldn't detect anything, of course my taste buds were destroyed years ago by cigarettes and cheap booze, quit both, drink better booze now.

I think these are the same stains I get. They are coming out of the evap. hose I'll bet. It's condensation out of the evap/charcoal box. I've had those since the first day I brought my Spyder home. Never have figured out what it was. My dealer said he replaced the charcoal box and solenoid unit, but that didn't fix it. Do you also get a gas smell? I do. Look under your Spyder about two minutes after a reasonable ryde (mine needs to be hot) and you will see liquid condensing at the evap hose from the charcoal box. I get five or six drips and then it stops. I even tried to light it to see if it was fuel (MOVE SPYDER FIRST) and it wouldn't. Still don't know what it is for sure even now. Here's my post on the subject if you want.
