There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Stability on the Highway

I know this subject keeps popping up but I would love to hear about newer Spyders with the same issues.
I have a 2017 F3T that gets a little squirrely with speeds over 60 mph. I know, lighten the grip and relax which is what
I am doing. Old threads recommend Baja Ron sway bars. Has anyone with the same year and model put on these sway bars and
what is your experience? I also read somewhere that the 2017 F3T has better suspension!? All suggestions are appreciated.
Love,Love,Love my Spyder up to 60 mph!
ps- the curves don't bother me ( too much ).

Hmmmm, I have a 2016 F3L and for all practical they are the same. I have no issues with speeds up to triple digits. I have ryden 2017 F3Ts and they are the same as mine even at high speed. Could be tire issues, or maybe you are out of alignment! I would suggest that you look into a quality Laser Alignment provider close to you and get it fixed. I know that a lot of folks have put the Bajaron Sway Bar on their F3s but mine handles so well because of the work done by Joe and Ann at Squared Away, that I have not felt that it was needed!

I have an RT, not an F3. I'm sure you'll get more expert responses, but to me it sounds like the first thing to do is have the alignment checked out. No way a properly aligned Spyder with good front tires should be 'squirrely' on a level (not crowned) road.

Its mostly caused from wind buffeting that moves it side to side a little...

On my F3 L I did add the Baha Ron Sway bar and it does make a big difference. I also agree that your alignment needs to be checked. I had a lot of belt vibration over 70. I loosened the belt about 20 pounds and it is better but still have a RR belt tentioner to install when I get time. on mine it did get squerlly on the curves when I took them aggressively, like the nanny was kicking in or something. The BR sway bar took that away. Also I would strongly recommend a set of front Elka shocks. Allingment, Swaybar, Elka Shocks and proper tire pressure are the things that will get you to top performance.

SQUIRELEY

Again......Alignment! I have none of that even when passing 18 wheelers! Most spyders come from the factory, OUT of Alignment. It is an easy inexpensive $100.00 + fix!
:agree::agree::agree: as others had said, get your alignment by a Lazer alignment specialist that doesn't use the BRP system ..... I can't stress this enough ..... The BRP method has been proven over and over to NOT BE ACCURATE ..... Plus throwing money at suspension Mods first makes NO sense if you don't have very good alignment..... the results of your Mods won't matter if the Spyder isn't aligned ...... Mike

BALANCE

could be your tires need to be balanced (again).... or; you may need an alignment....
i have a '15 F3, and i notice a bit of what you are experiencing with the OEM tires... since changing out to REAL tires, aka; car tires, i have witnessed NO ill effects... i also have installed the RT Sway Bar, and all that does is helps me get thru the tite-turns a lot easier.....
good luck, and hope you find out what the issue is...

If it's just the wind: try bringing your knees in against the tank. If it holds you in place in the cross-winds: it'll help to keep the bike in place as well!

But the laser alignment advice is also good...

I would check the tire pressure first. this is my second Spyder and on both of them I assumed they delivered it to me with proper tire pressure, but I just checked it and it was way off. One was like 10 pounds and the other was like 12. Its like the did not even bother to check.

Hi,
Sounds like you do not have enough air in rear air bladder.
Schrader air fill valve cap is under rear sear, right side as sitting on 2017 F3T Spyder.
As you know, push down key & turn right to release rear seat latch.
Remove Schrader cap & add 50# air; use a Bicycle tire pump as it only takes a little air to get to 50#.
Raising rear up with more air in bladder, increases weight on front tires, not as squirrely steering; also make sure front tires are about 17# air.
You probably don't need a Baja Ron front swaybar.
Yes the 2017 F3T has better rear suspension with the air bladder (like the RT's have), so you are able to add a little air to raise rear up to suit your ryding, and Sacks front shocks work well.
Enjoy your rydes.
Jim
Interesting...I checked the air bladder last week and it was on 0. I inflated it to 35 but it didn't make much difference on the highway at high speeds!

All of the above....

good advise above....start with the air pressure making sure you have the same on both sides. Balance if even only static will help. Then of course the laser alignment. The sway bar will a big difference but not if the other is not done to start with. A test ryde after each will help you find which is causing the problem..

Does anyone know where to go for laser alignment in South Florida?
I just called the selling dealer who is quite large and they don't do it..

Do a search for Rolo Laser alingment. Their main site has a list of techs in your area that do it.

Stability

I can take my hands off the bars at 70+ and my '14 is stable and runs true. As all the other sages have said: Alignment, alignment, tire pressure, tire pressure. ANNNNNNND : no death grip on the bars.nojoke
