• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ST Windshield Slipping

Is there anyway to tighten the brackets so the windshield does not slide down while driving. Sometimes while driving and hitting minor bumps, nothing major, the windshield will work its way down to the lowest setting. Anyone else have this problem?

I have a 2013 stL and live on a very bumpy / pot hole road and never had the windshield move out of the setting i put it in ,i would take it back to the dealer to adjust .

Same deal here

Hi,

Just purchased a 2014 STS with the same problem. Had them install a 25 inch Ultra Touring windshield and it does not stay up at all. For some strange reason I had to leave my bike there while we are waiting for the parts to come in.

Same here

There is a fix, I havent had it done yet, waiting for next service, but apparently your dealer can change the washers etc in the mechanism to stop it happening, I have a couple of Zip Ties holding mine up at the moment lolol. Through the screen bracket and hooked around the top of the dash.

Mine is going down, again and again!

Are any dealers covering this under warranty? My dealer said they could get it to stay up with putting in some shims and things but that it would cost me 2-3 hours of service time...for $240 I will keep pulling it up.

Mine doesn't fall down but it wiggles a lot. I moved my windshield to clean behind it and it started to crack.

that is hi-way robbery....email BRP.Care and see what Steve can do to help you

I put a taller and wider aftermarket windshield on my 2013 STL and always run with it in the down position but never had any problem when I had the stock windshield with it staying up. I would think that the warranty would cover any malfunction with the windshield mechanism.
sounds like a clueless dealer / service manager I would talk to someone higher up the food chain.

Question: How many folks are having this problem with the OEM windshield?
How many have larger windshields on their STs?
If I was to hazard a guess; I'd think that the larger surface of an aftermarket screen, is making the marginal situation worse.
Either way; your dealer should have the answer...

Haven't had any problem keeping it up the larger windshield that is :opps: everything else is working fine too. when I have it up for inclement weather it stays up just fine even running on these stupid segmented concrete freeways around here. there must be a way to adjust the friction on the mechanism I know I am not gonna mess with mine cause if it isn't broke don't fix it.
