• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ST questions

My tires are black. Does that count?
No. Black wheels only :roflblack:

Yellow just means your slowing down or just to alert people of your squid riding style. Red means your stopped completely but still want to look fast..., :D

Everyone knows all the fast machines are BLACK because we don't want to be seen by the police!..... :D we roll stealth...

Black Currant is the upper echelon of black too :yes::yes:

Trained spyder owners eye

And this trained spyder owner is hoping to get some replacement bolts cut down so I can put them in the holes when the rack is not fitted, Attention to detail was all part of my army training.
Unless of course a highly trained spyderlover has a better solution. ;)

Your dealer FAILED. You can push one button on each bag and it instantly pops off and then the 1/4 turn fasteners take maybe 37 seconds each side to release them from the bike. After that, it takes a trained spyder owner's eye to identify that there ever were any bags on the bike. :2thumbs:

This makes me wonder why they wouldn't want to sell the more expensive bike? Perhaps it was just an uninformed salesman? :banghead:

So if these bags/boxes are purchased separate they are easy to mount on a non-limited ST?

No clue why they wouldn't want to sell the more expensive one :dontknow: It doesn't appear to be too difficult to add them after the fact. It comes with relocation arms for the turn signals and then one bracket is flush with the rear plastic vent and another one mounts below the plastic in the rear fender area. If you need pics I can snap a few for you

That would be cool.

Quick search i couldnt even even find the bags, I'll have to dig deeper.

I can take both saddle bags off in seconds, it's just a matter of inserting the key and pressing a button.
It takes another couple of minutes to remove the frames, just 3 quick twist bolts on both sides.

Where did you get the tool to take the twist bolts off to remove the frames????

Saddle bag removal

That's a lot faster than I can, I sometimes struggle to locate the tool into the bolt head in the extension arms, apart from that the jobs a very easy one.
I'll be riding my ST more and more now with the saddle bags and brackets removed and just fit them when needed.

That's the toughest one

Turn signal

If anything I think it puts the turn signal lights in a more prominent position for other road users to see.
just saying.

I think the RT is all around fatter/wider than the ST.

Wow! how wrong can you be :banghead:. I have a 2014 RT-Lim with the new 3-cylinder 1330 and a 2013 ST-Lim with the 990cc twin 5 speed.. They both have the same narrow body in the seating area. Same seat height, I am 6'1 - 240# and find both very similar to ride. They are the same width - 60" at the front wheel spread.

The RT 1330, however, is so much stronger in acceleration due to the 115 hp and 40% increase in torque. There is less that 100# difference in the two bikes, so # per hp is better with the RT, do the math. The 6th gear is so much better on the highway at 65+ mph. Better acceleration from that speed than the twin.

The ST is a good girls bike, my wife lovers hers and we cruise together on my RT ahd her ST.
