St-ltd won't upshift

I noticed today that when I am ready to ride, my 2014 ST-ltd won't upshift from 1st gear until the cycle warms up a couple of minutes, then it is fine. Is this normal ?

After experimenting a few minutes I realized that as soon as it warms up with 2 bars it is ready to go. I also shift now at 3000 rpm with no problem.

And when you check the oil level, be sure to use the proper procedure else it could show low when it really isn't. It's detailed in the owner's manual. Don't have one? See http://www.operatorsguides.brp.com/...s/OwnersManuals_SSA/attach/06/2014/2785EN.pdf

While you are down there checking the oil,check the little shifter arm down low on the left side. It is made of (very) soft metal and if it has loosened up the splines may be worn enough to not allow it enough grip in cold oil to actually effect a shift. Just give it a wiggle for your own piece of mind. If loose see if you can tighten the bolt. If you need to replace, it is about $32.00 but easy to do. Index it to the punch mark on the end of the shaft.
