• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Squeeking from rear wheel 2013 Spyder ST

Yesterday, at slow speeds, I noticed (for lack of better terms) a squeaking from the rear wheel. The noise was intermittent as the wheel turned. What are your thoughts. Warped rotor? Bearings that need to be greased or replaced. It should be noted that the rear tire was changed 2000 miles ago by the dealership. I would think (that is what I get for thinking) that the dealership would have inspected everything while they had the axle out.

I can't hear it at faster speeds mainly because of road and wind noise.

Warped rotor, sounds exactly like what I had happen last year (self induced) had one dealer not diagnose it properly, trailered it to Spyderfest '17, and Pit Bull and BRP tech's diagnosed and corrected it. The sound wouldn't be there when everything was cool, but got louder within 5 minutes of riding. Once warped rotor was replaced, no more squeek.

Little checking.....

It has been an ongoing issue on the twins at least with dirty brakes squeeling when backing up and at slow speeeds stoping. Sometimes it's the pins worn and not allowing the pads to retract so the drag a bit sometimes a accumulation of dust and debris that makes them squeel. Good cleaning with simple green and then ryde and see if it goes away. Not to say It is not a bent rotor but that is less common...

Thanks

I will look at giving them a good cleaning before I do anything. I was thinking it was a rotor because it is only making the sound each partial rotation. if were anything else I would think the sound would be constant and not intermittent .

That has been my experience with up to 2011's that I have owned. The 2014 does not do it. In my case, I am guessing dust on the brake rotors after any drive. The back up out of the garage gives a squeak. A few minutes of riding and--gone--in my case.
