• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's getting bumpy in here... I got most of the front page redesigned at lunch, I should have something for show and tell in the AM. Wow we are up to 91. I imported the spreadsheet this morning but when I'm all said and done I'll import it again, it only takes 5 minutes to import.

I have part one online for testing. If the item is marked with an asterisk then I'm not done programming it. When I did the import from the spreadsheet I got about 75 names, I see we are up to 90 or so. When I'm done I'll import from the spreadsheet again so no one has to enter their data twice.

I just looked at it on my eye phone and the phone numbers are clickable to dial it... pretty cool.

Now to figure out how to make the page know it is loaded on a smart phone... and I even figured out how to bookmark a page on my eye phone.

Cruzer.... great what you are doing. I went to print and noticed that while it is set up to print in landscape it has a bunch of extra columns added on making it really small to read. Yes I was able to copy and paste in to an excel sheet, but I know many are not too computer literate:yikes: so I thought I would suggest maybe someone going in and changing the printing. Just a suggestion.

Great job. Thanks

Could you try and print the database one just for a test? It has about 75 names in it.

Once we get it set up complete it will print much better, right now it is just an Excel spreadsheet.

Just a note about the database listing, not everyone is in the database. The x's are just place holders for me when I import from the spreadsheet. If something is not intuitive I'd appreciate feed back. At this point only two things are done, the print page which displays a page sorted by state and city and the contact the admin page.

I have the following fields in the database:
SpyderLovers user name
name
city
state
phone
cell phone
your info about what you can provide
nearest dealer info
if you have a trailer that can haul a spyder
your latitude and longitiude

If there needs to be anything else let me know.

looking good to me, some folks have 2 Phone #s will that work in the database? WE are up to 93

Joe

Yep, there is a place for 2 phone numbers in the database. I have 93 in the database including you this time... dunno how you got lost last time.

I got some more done during my lunch break and updated the database. If you don't mind taking a peek at the Add your contact page and give me any feed back. You can't save the info yet but you can see the format for entering the data and what fields I have. If you want to test entering some data you can. Next break I'll program the save function. If you can think of anything more fields that need to be added to the database after viewing the Add form let me know.

I changed the format a bit on the print page. Does it look better?

Thanks

Next thing I'll work on is getting the save to database button working. Then on to the search by state...

John

You an now add your info directly into the database with the "Add Your Contact Info". If a couple of people could add some info and let me know if they ran into any problems that would be great. If your in the list already just use test for a name and I'll delete it after while.

I just synced the spreadsheet info with the database so it is up to date.

Next up is to program the "Search by State" function...
