There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. My Wife read somewhere about a ride that began or ended in Gatlinburg, TN the week of 21-25 Sep. and was called "Spyders in the Smokies"; does anyone have any info. on this?:dontknow:

You'll find more specifics on the SpyderTalk forum as that event is organized / hosted by the people on that forum or send a PM to Director for details. lamonster was kind enough to open up his house for us SpyderLovers during last years Spyders in the Smokies event for a nice BBQ on one of the days.

Spyder in the Smokies

Thanks for the info. I'll be watching for details as the event date gets nearer:clap:We'd like to make reservations and take time off from work etc...

Thanks for the help.

The Red Roof Inn in Gatlinburg was a very nice place to stay. We stayed there with about 6 - 10 other Spyders in the Smokies attendees last year. It was clean, cheap, walking distance to two of the restaurants the group ate at, and a block from the entrance to the park where some of the meets for the rides were. Also, being a block off the "main drag" (The Great Smokey Mountains Pkwy / 71 / 441) you are close to the action but not always in the middle of the action. I think that some of the same folks who went last year and stayed at the Red Roof Inn have already booked those rooms again for this years event.

I'll be staying at the Red Roof too

Sounds like Carol and I have a 75% chance of making it this year. I talked to a couple that went down from upstate last year and they were dissapointed that there was the barbeque scheduled on the same night that brp/spydertalk had scheduled an event and they wanted to attend both. Since the Spyders in the Smokies is a spydertalk planned event, theres more than enough days to make sure that stuff doesn't overlap , I'd suggest this year scheduling the bbq on an off night of events that they have planned so everyone can attend and also out of courtesey to the folks over at Spydertalk who are setting up the event.

I think we do it when the HOST is available. Afterall, he is being gracious enough to open his home to us. The least we can do is accommodate his schedule.

Steve is a great host, I was there last year and hope to see him again in Sep. 2009! http://www.oldeenglishtudorinn.com/

Well if you go back and look at the post there was nothing scheduled on that night till after I made the BBQ arrangements. This year Mark contacted me and said Tuesday and Thursday was open if I wanted to have it then. I picked Thursday. :doorag:

We are hoping to be there again this year as well. Hope to see you guys, it would be great to ride with you again. The roads are great down there.

As long as GM doesn't go down and take my job and vacation time with it, I'll be there.
