There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyders in the Redwoods

I would not start comparing a first ever event to a repeated event. Not to mention this is the first real gathering of sorts on the far west coast. It will pick up momentum each year.

Heck we had a local ryde kicked off by our Dealership for the second time today, and we had double the participation of the first (Spyder wise) and another 4-5 Sidecars and Harley's join in today. It was a great group of folks and we look forward to the next getting even bigger...

TBH I am shocked to see so many already signed up. I (Off the top of my head) figured maybe 40 would attend... Not to mention a lot of folks just show up at the event and hardly ever come online...

This area is rather beautiful and it will be hard to pull yourself away from it (Two generations of my family grew up in Eureka until about ten years ago). And the roads go for miles and miles and miles. Great weather, good "Eats" along the coast. Could not ask for more on Spyders :2thumbs::doorag::spyder2:

There will be two of the original RT-5, one of which is one of the Spyder Five there.... the reason for this is because the other four live clear on the east coast.

The reason for the low numbers this year has nothing really to do with it not being a "BRP sanctioned" event, or that there "aren't that many on the west coast" (which simply is not true). It's the first year.... we're expecting about a 100....that's pretty good for an event that was just announced six months ago (IMHO).

And... by the way.... BRP is our biggest sponsor for Spyders in the Redwoods. :)

Numbers, large or small, it's going to be freaking AWESOME!!!!! :D:2excited:

SpyderGril hope everyone has a fun time out there, If you and the others could try taking a lot of picture for the one's back here in the far eastern U.S. wishing we could make it out there. { WORK :(}. Better half and I used up all our vacation time between Cuba and Maggie valley, I would love to see if BPR might try setting up an avent out west in northern AZ,NV, Utah so we could make plans for that. Be safe and have fun jc.

We plan on having lots of pictures and videos to share with you all... just as you all did for us out here that couldn't make it to the Owners Event or SpyderFest.

I was just joking around peeps!! LOL...didn't anyone notice the little :roflblack: guys in my post...Wow! Didn't mean to raise anyone's BP! :yikes:

Just a few weeks left, and I've got lot's of mods to do before the run! You're absolutely right though...it's gonna be awesome!! Epic even!

No BP raised here. It's gonna be awesome.... only 2 1/2 hours left to register.

I have risers, triple play, and all those pesky radiator blocks/heat shields/etc. to put on, but it should be ready! :ohyea: :2thumbs:

What are you SoCal folks going to do with no traffic and trees all around???? :roflblack:

Well I have no traffic where I live (stay off the freeways as much as I can), and no trees either (desert). I'm going to jump off the RT and shout out "Eureka!".:2thumbs::clap::ohyea::yes:

I'm in the desert near Edwards AFB... so... hmmmmm.... trees? <glances around>.... traffic? <glances around>.... hmmm.... what are ya talkin' about?! :joke::roflblack::roflblack: LOL, actually, on the weekends we get a large number of RV's and M/C's out here, lot's of off-roading, other than that, unless the 5 or the 395 gets closed down, we're pretty open up on the roads. Now, between Lancaster and LA, that's a different story, but I don't call that a highway... :roflblack: I call that a PARKING LOT :roflblack:

:f_spider: on!!!

Wow Steve! You're really getting pumped for this event aren't you? Jolly good show mate!

Who? Me? Pumped up? ...:yes::yes:

I'm so happy I get to attend, even though the drive is gonna SUCK!! ;) So  4 me on the drive

Also, I'm finding a certain amount of entertainment value just in bumping this thread from time-to-time :D:thumbup:

Looking forward to shaking your hand and meeting all the other Spyder Lovers!!! :doorag:

Steve - I'd cut to the coast and come all the way up on 1 or 101. 99's too slow, and I 5 isn't worth the effort, on a bike. Just my $0.02

Thanks for the advice bro.. I appreciate it. I'm not going to ryde the Spyder up because it's an RS with stock seats/pegs/sore butts and numb hands...LOL, so I'm trailering up there. I'm leaving my house at night, so was going to Bakersfield (Hwy 58), then the 5 to the 580, to the 80 and then hook up with the 101 north of the Bay Area. I could go up through Fresno, but I'd still link onto the 101 around Richmond either way.

It's close to 11 hours straight through (I'm thinking more like 12+ depending on how well the :coffee: 5 hour energy drinks are working ;)) no matter what.

But, that's all good... I'll be wide awake after I get there because I'll be too :2excited:  I'm kind of hoping the hotel will let me check in early and I'll try to get a nap, but if not, I'll just go on over to the meeting place and find a nice spot to park my :spyder:

WAHOO countdown time

Ahhh 7/20 15k service at dealer...will be leaving home on 7/27 headed down to Corbin factory for ride-in new saddle...then up to Eureka to Spyder in the Redwoods with all you fine folks.
Will be seeing the sights as I go south and then north and maybe even a few east or west (whoops that one might get me wet) side trips....
Looking forward to the journey and meeting up with old friends and making new ones.
:2thumbs::spyder2:

My wife and I are SOOO bummed we will not be able to attend this year's SitR event due to pressing issues here at work!
But I can tell you that Spydergirl and her tireless committee have helped create what will be THE event on the western coast, I have already started making plans for the next "Spyders in the Redwoods"!
I hope all that attend have a little extra fun for me and my wife! We will attend through your pictures and posts.

 Wow... sounds like you're going to have a great time just getting there :2thumbs:!!

If I drove my :spyder2: up there, I'd probably pull over after the first two hours and stretch, etc., then a couple of times with one hour in between, then it would become half-an-hour, then I'd pull over and figure out a way to stretch out on the stock seat, and I'd drive for 15 minutes and pull over for two hours at a time... :roflblack::roflblack: :opps: get the picture :yikes:

Enjoy your ride though, sounds fantastic!! Looking forward to meeting!!

That is truly a shame that you and your wife won't be there :( I'll for sure have enough fun for everyone that can't make it. I didn't think I could attend myself until I put my small, but sometimes barely adequate, brain to it. Spydergirl and the other's who are putting this event together are the BOMB !!

I'll be looking forward to meeting you on the next event, or maybe sometime in the middle, the Lord willing! :2thumbs: Hope your issues at work go well! Pictures? OK!! :roflblack: I'm trying to figure out a way to mount my little digital video camera to the mirror or something (without some :cus: expensive mounting system)... I have an idea, will work on it and be happy to provide that to interested persons. :D
